You must remember that you cannot assign a nursing diagnosis to any patient without having done the nursing appropriate assessment.

You can purchase the NANDA-I 2012-29014 at Amazon.com.

From their FAQs at NANDA International - Nursing Diagnosis Home Page

collapse.gifWhy doesn’t NANDA International provide a list of its diagnoses on its website? There is no real use for simply providing a list of terms – to do so defeats the purpose of a standardized language. Unless the definition, defining characteristics, related and/or risk factors are known, the label itself is meaningless. Therefore, we do not believe it is in the interest of patient safety to produce simple lists of terms that could be misunderstood or used inappropriately in a clinical context.

They are in Europe......do you know how to get them a reference to NANDA for Europe??

What? I don't think I understand the question. Do you mean, is there a different book or organization for Europe?

NANDA-I is published in English but I think it's also available in other languages. I know the proceedings of their meetings are in multiple languages. The content is developed by nurses from all over the world and there aren't separate books (other than the language) for different countries as far as I know. The NANDA-I website should be accessible from anywhere that the Internet is generally open. I know she said she couldn't get there but I wonder if the link she had was broken.

Here's a link to their international newsletter. NANDA International Newsletter - News Around the Globe

They say the can't get onto the site....at all. It does come in different languages right from the NANDA site....but I was wonder if you know of a different means to access it from Europe. I'd like to help and I don't know how....

Perhaps one of our European guides or correspondents in another forum would be more helpful? I can't imagine why a European computer couldn't access the NANDA-I site. Amazon is international, too. China, sure, but what country is she in?

OP, are you still there?

Aha. When we type in a URL, the AN software gives the name of the site, not the actual URL. Let's see if we can do a work-around.

I'm going to type in the NANDA-I URL, but with extra spaces between each letter and character. There are none in the original (which begins " www.nanda ". Use these without the spaces, and you might be good to go, unless for some reason internet access in your country is restricted.

Here's the link to Amazon to buy NANDA-I 2012-2014, also with extra spaces you should remove.
