Yeah, not too bad. Like a blind squirrel that found an acorn with the new job. I really fell into a great position, better than I could have hoped for. I miss the babies badly, but life is too good to complain. I found an excuse yesterday to go talk to one of the neonatologists, and got to get that sweet NICU air back in my lungs for a few minutes. :)
When I left a beloved area...I always tried to get a per-diem spot somewhere to play now and then....glad you are doing ok.Yeah, not too bad. Oh man, I had some grade A snuggles the other night! Sweet sweet little NAS boy that hung out on my chest for quite a while and just hunkered right in. He wasn't even in my assignment, but those kind of quality snuggles can't be passed up! Good to "see" you, Bortaz! Hope life is great...even though you have to miss the snuggles.
Bortaz, you are such a great guy and a wonderful nurse.Do you ever think you may return to NICU? I don't wish to sound probing but what prompted you to leave. You sound as though your heart belongs to the babies and I am sure the babies miss you too.
Thanks. :)
It is my intention to go back into nicu, but I'll have to relocate to do so. All the units down here are disasters, and sapped all my strength. We only plan to be here for another 2 years, max. Unless my time away from bedside (current job) prevents it, I'll be looking for nicu jobs when we move.

...to snuggle a baby for me, since I had to leave the NICU.
Have you done it?
