Okay, I take the NCLEX on Sept. 26th. I'm nervous, just like everyone else. I have a couple of questions for everyone.
1. Did your program have you take the HESI assessment? If so, how did you do and how similar to the NCLEX was the test? I got a 1025 on it yesterday.
2. Did anyone take the Kaplan review course and if so, how do their practice questions compare to the actual NCLEX?
Any advice would be great. I keep getting in the 60 percents on the Kaplan practice tests so I'm a little nervous.
Thanks in advance!

I just took my N-CLEXPN last month. I passed, thankfully.
My school did require us to take the HESI. I made a 972. I personally felt that the HESI was harder than the NCLEX.
I didn't do the Kaplan course. I just used Davis Review and Saunders.
Good Luck and God Bless.

I took the Kaplan review and found it helpful for breaking down the NCLEX questions. The course also reinforced how the NCLEX is based on "textbook" nursing not real life nursing. I only got 61% on the Q-bank questions and I still passed the NCLEX at 75 questions. So just keep studying don't worry so much about your %...I found out that helped was reading the rationals on the questions I got wrong....
Best of luck to you..

I also took the Kaplan course and found the questions very similar in composition and content to the NCLEX. I did many, many NCLEX questions from several different sources and found that Kaplan questions were the most similar to NCLEX. I consistantly scored in the lower to mid 60's on the Kaplan tests and I passed NCLEX with 75 questions last month.
Best of luck!
