A job that is transferable from state to state

Published

Hi all,

im wondering if anyone has worked a job for the same company that you can work at in different states? I'm in AZ currently and would like to go home to MN for the summers. I'd prefer to be off the floor so I'm thinking about telephone triage or something similar. Thank you.

Not sure... school nursing so you have the summers off and then camp nursing in MN? Not sure how maintainIng licenses in two states would work tho.

Specializes in Pedi.

You can maintain licenses in as many states as you want, so long as you meet the continuing education requirements and pay the license renewal fees.

My last job was for a national home infusion pharmacy. I saw people who transferred from one location to another within the company but wasn't aware of anyone who worked 9 months of the year out of one branch and 3 months in another.

There are home health agencies that have a nationwide presence where this would be possible. One way to find out what is available is to do a job search on an employment website such as indeed. If you see listings for the same company, chances are there. Then you could call and make specific inquiries about the feasibility. I do know that it is easier to do with home health. As far as hospital type jobs, or even clinic jobs, I would imagine that there might be more of a permanence requirement.

Thank you everyone for the great ideas. I will start researching!
