I had a prayer card and a drawing from one of my sons in my pocket. Thought about leaving them, but then knew I'd get snagged! I agree about the number. I was in the mid 60's when I looked at the number, then I started to panic!
You were taking them in Richmond, right? I was there Monday. I'll keep you in my thoughts...
Hi All,I took the NCLEX today and after reading so many posts about the number "75", I knew if I started looking at the little box at the bottom that had the question number I was on - it would totally throw me and I wouldn't be able to concentrate - so I ignored it.
I did get a scare when the screen flashed blue - looked over and saw it was question 72 - then it told me that it was time for my scheduled break. I was praying that it would be over soon, so I kept going and it shut off at 75. I hope and pray that I passed - just such a sense of relief to have it done.
One odd thing - they made us empty our pockets (sort of felt like a criminal)..
I always keep a religious medal in my pocket - just kind of weird that I couldn't keep that with me.. Anyways, do yourself a favor and totally ignore the little number box. Good Luck To Us All, Sue.....
I know how you feel about the number box. I kept looking at it the WHOLE time. At question 70 my test blacked out and I was thinking WTH until it asked me about the break. and when I got to question 75 and I clicked submit I was getting ready for it to cut off. It's weird something to muck knowledge about something is no good because I couldn't stop looking at the number of question I completed
OMG...I had to empty my pockets too and I thought that seemed so strange. I was also not allowed to wear my watch. I asked to go to the bathroom before I started and had to be fingerprinted before and after and then again before and after the test. Before I entered the testing room the woman/proctor offered a pair of earplugs; I accepted and went to reach out to take the box. She pulled the box out of my reach and said "no, I need to give you just the earplugs...you can't take the box" - she then poured them into my hand. As if I may write all the questions out on this tiny 2X2 piece of cardboard - as if that was at all possible to get away with, with a video camera above my head...recording my every move. At one point I flipped my shoe off and readjusted myself in the chair and I thought "oh great!!! any second someone is going to come in and check the inside of my shoe for cheat notes!!!" Thank God that experience is over!!!
I think they all make you empty your pockets. They asked me if I had anything in them, but I didn't. The girl that went before me had to take off her watch too. When I was reading the little info slip they give you to read there it said you couldn't get back into your locker unless you HAD to like to take medication or something. So I didn't get to eat my granola bar. Oh well I wasn't really hungry anyway, too many nerves! And when I left the lady told me to make sure to put my license back where it's suppose to be cause I had to have it in my pocket during the test. Weird? Oh well. Good luck everyone!!

:roll :rotfl: Oh, my that is too funny. Yep, sound just like my testing center, except they were rebels and let me keep my box.
I am glad the test [EVIL][/EVIL]is over too. Two hours until results...
I had to empty my pockets, leave my wallet, watch and jacket in a locker, and was fingerprinted both before and after also. We were only allowed to wear one shirt into the testing room, as a woman who had a jacket-shirt over a t-shirt was told. Kinda' sucked, because I was carrying a picture of my deceased mother who was also an LPN in my pocket for "luck". I wore my Mom's cross on a chain tho, so at least I had something of "hers" in the testing room with me. I also totally ignored the number indicator on the screen. Only know what number it quit on because I glanced at it when I brought the calculator up and that was my last question.
Kelly,I was supposed to go to Newport News - checked the other night and they had an opening in Greenville (much closer) - so I went there. So, have you heard something by now?
Found out Wednesday afternoon I passed and called the BON this morning just to hear them confirm my license!
I'll send you a PM.

I was able to keep the box with me. Had gum in my mouth, too. The guy who checked me in said he'll call it a "cough drop". Guess you can't chew gum. About halfway through, I thought about putting my gum in the little earplug box, but thought that "big brother" thought it might seem suspicious...
