I posted a comment a few days ago asking for assistance with some issues with my staff. Im a newer nurse and i am still tring to get my "back bone" in nursing. With all the replies i got, i used the information given to me. Thanks to everyone who replied. I spoke with my DON and i wrote some people up. Maybe they will begin to figure out im not playing. Even if it takes a few times before they get it, but i will make my point.

thats the spirit !! yes you have to show that you mean business.. they will be upset , give you dirty looks , talk about you , tell the DON they won't work with you... blah blah blah..... and i get this all the time..... who cares what they think .. they don't live with you , they are not your family and you owe them nothing, they don't sign your paycheck... i am there to do my job and if they don't do theirs i will write them up.. i am there for the patients...... if they want to act like a bunch of 2 year olds .. not my problem..... i still have one whiney person who won't look me in the eye because i wrote him up..... boo hoo ... do i care ??? no .. because i made my point ... you do what i ask or you can be replaced.... i have no qualms writing you up... i could care less if you like me or not.. let them go boo hoo to their wives or mother not me...... i say stick with your guns everytime they get out of line .. write them up... i do ... it works .. they hate me !!! yeah !! okay with me !! take care of the patients .. do your job ..

Good for you. It's no fun to not be liked, but the rules are put in place for one reason - the safety of the patients. :up:
