A&P summer classes studying ahead

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I'm taking A&P 1 and 2 this summer. I must get an A in both classes to have a fighting chance in getting into the nursing program. I am already nervous about these classes. Would it be wise to start studying by purchasing the Kaplan flash cards?? I'm determined to get an A!!

I would go ahead and start studying the bones and muscles for sure. You may even want to study on the articulations. The bones are pretty easy, but the muscles suck a little bit.

Ok thank you!!!

At the time I took anatomy, my college only offered a course which had anatomy 1&2 condensed in one semester. I had to take physio lecture and lab separately. From my experience, I did not have any in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physio but I had a good study habits and frequently used resources available to me..in addition developing a good way to memorize and apply what you know is essential for practical exams.

It would be great to start studying now. Starting with the bones/articulations first is a great idea, then progressing to muscle and nerve. Don't kill yourself though! This is a good chance to familiarize yourself to what you're in for. If you're a bit anxious, set up study groups, nag your professor about concepts you have trouble with. The more proactive you are and willing to learn, it will reflect on your exams.

When memorizing bone and muscle origin/action/function, try to reference it to your own body as well. Touch a part of your body that correlates to what you're trying to memorize..perhaps bicep or other bone protrusions. It's these little tips that will slowly add up to help you memorize

I would try to get the syllabi for the two courses & purchase the textbook as well. Start reading the chapters, outlining/taking notes & taking the quizzes at the end of each chapter. Good luck!

Wow you are crazy!! Lol!! I am doing a 5week summer class in may for psychology of human development and a five week intro to chem. don't know if I could do a and p for a five week course and I know a good 40% of it!! I wonder if summer classes are more forgiving? This will be my first summer class.
