A&P I

Published

I am taking my final on Medical Terminology Monday. This summer, I will be taking A&P I for SUMMER I and then for SUMMER II, I will be taking online General Psychology. Please tell me if these courses are going to be easy or really hard. Part of me wants to give up, but part of me REALLY wants to finish and live my dream on becoming an LVN. I just don't know if I can memorize everything in the A&P course. Has anyone else ever felt this way? :crying2:

I found general psych to be a walk in the park, but I know others struggled more with it. Depends on your strengths; I've been interested in psych for a long time so I had a basis for the class before starting.

A&P is notorious in my program for being difficult. They had to open up multiple summer classes to accommodate those who failed this year. But keep in mind we were juggling a challenging full course load at the time. Doing it over the summer is a good idea, you'll have time to concentrate on it. Do the readings as you go along. It is a lot of memorization, and don't be fooled into thinking you can get a general overview of the concepts and be okay for the tests, because (at least for us) the questions are very specific and detailed. Your best bet is to review everything you learn each week so you don't have to cram at the end.

I feel very fortunate to have gotten a great teacher for BIOL110 I was able to follow into A&P. Not easy, but a great teacher makes it all better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I highly recommend Martini's A and P study guide. I used it. I am finishing AP2 next week and I have scored all A's and 2 high B's on the exams. VERY HELPFUL!

Thanks! We use Martini for our A&P 1&2... I just got finished with A&P1. I didn't know there was a study guide for it. Going to order it on Amazon for A&P2 because I heard it was harder than A&P1. :D

I found my psych class to be fairly easy and that was with a very hard professor. That class should not be too hard unless you struggle with those concepts.

A&P I was not too bad, I ended up with a B+ but I wasn't trying all that hard for various reasons. However I am almost finished with A&P II this semester and I found it to be way more difficult..I had to put a lot of more time and effort into it. The professor was tough as well. But you can do it!! Just dedicate time and devotion towards the classes and you will be fine!

A&P is a VERY hard class to take over the summer because they generally condense it down to 8 wks (At my school its a 4 wk course!!!) If you will just devote ALL your free time to studying and lab you will be fine! It is intense but very doable. On the first day find a group that you can study with. In A&P you need a GROUP!!! I just got an A in A&P and a girl in class and I were in the lab for hours every Sunday teaching each other, but we made A's! Take a deep breath and hang in there....you can do it!!!
