I would also like to add that I will have 3 weeks of summer before and after I take these classes. So I can still enjoy summer a little bit. I also dont have kids, and dont party or anything like that. The classes are M-Th with only lab on Th. Times are 8:15-10:10 (Lecture) and 10:20-12:30 (Lab). First session is 6/05-7/06 and the second session is 7/10-8/10.
I took Nutrition, A&P I, and Stats at the same time - it wasn't bad. I'm currently taking A&P II and Micro and it's not too bad. I've never taken a Bio class. I found that Nutrition and A&P I complemented each other, and Micro and A&P II cover similar topics. You just need to have good study habits.
Good luck :)
I took Anatomy in 8 weeks during the summer and Microbiology in 5 weeks during the winter session and got As in both. I also took Physiology and Chemistry at the same time during Fall semester. These are doable if you stay focused and develop a study routine everyday. Also have a great study group because if you are able to explain it to someone else, that's the highest form of knowledge. Good luck to you!
I took A&P I & II over a summer, but it was crazy. I don't remember my grades exactly, but I think maybe I got an A and a B. The school where I took most of my pre-reqs didn't even OFFER A&P during the summer, which kind of tells you that maybe they thought it was too rushed over the summer, but as I said, I got through it at a CC.
I took micro last summer as an 8 week course. It was a lot of work, but really not that bad. If you go into it knowing that you will have to put the study time in you should be fine. A good rule of thumb, for me, is to dedicate the same amount of time spent in class on studying. So if I spend 4 hours a week in class, I need to spend at least 4 hours a week studying. I keep my flashcards with me, so that when I have a few minutes of down time (for example when I'm picking up my kids from school and have to wait for 10 minutes) I flip through my flash cards rather than waste time on my phone. :)
I am currently in A&P1 and it's really not hard at all. Lots of rote memorization, but not difficult material. Get lots of flash cards and practice, practice, practice. We have had 4 exams so far and I've received a 100%, 98%, 96% and 100% on them.

Hey everyone! I was wondering if taking AP I and II over summer is a good idea? I'm hoping to get a specific teacher that has great reviews on ratemyprofessor (my mom even had her). Im not going to be working, because I work at my CC during Spring/Fall. I want to apply to nursing school for Fall 2018. Im taking AP over summer so I can finish Micro, Stats, and Nutrition Fall 2017. I know GPA matters a lot, so I dont want to sacrifice my GPA just to get done faster. I also have not taken Bio before, would that be essential before taking AP or Micro? Im worried my lack of Bio knowledge might cause me confusion. I didnt know I wanted to do nursing until I fninished most of my basics. So the classes I still need are:
The more I type this out and look at other posts, the more I think I underestimated what it would take to get an A in A&P. Any suggestions on how I should structure the rest of my classes? Maybe taking nutrition over summer. Im struggling with how I am going to finish these. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!
