I see a lot of hype over this class. I understand why, but is it considered a difficult class? Any tips for when I take it? Is it common for schools to offer anatomy as one class and physiology as another? Thanks. :)
I think separating them is to your benefit as they are different and require extensive study. Nursing schools weight heavily on these scores and these classes are difficult....you will use these your entire career. I find physiology the most difficult for students especially for the endocrine systems/acid base balance you will be glad they are separate and you will discover how important they are and why there is so much "hype" around them.
Let me offer my two cents. When searching for an AP course ask other students how they liked the professor, trust me they know! If you hear..."don't take so-and-so's class" heed the warning. The best way to learn is to find a good teacher! Some professors just like to lecture and the lecture has nothing to do with their test. Some professors tell you to read the chapter and then give you a test that makes absolutely no sense. My advice is to find a teacher that will go over the core concepts. Some one who will give an outline/lecture and the test will be based on it. I had to take AP 1 and 2 twice. I had to take them because my nursing school didn't take sciences older than 5 years. The first grades I received were not good - I was not as FOUCSED and DEDICATED as I should have been and both professors did not have good teaching reputations (I'm glad those grades expired)! When I took the class again...I found professors with GREAT reputations for teaching and explaning important concepts. I worked hard, memorized important concepts, completed all my assignments, studied hard for test, and I ended up LOVING AP II. I received A's in both classes. The class is hard if you make it hard - or if you have to teach yourself. There is alot to memorize (15 weeks goes quickly), don't get behind it'll be hard to catch-up.
