Does any one know if will accept Military personnel/ Military Spouses online BSN prelicensure program while taking clinical courses on base or outside of the states that they have the clinicals available?

I do intend to talk to an enrollment counselor in a couple days, but I would appreciate any information provided.

Thank you! :)

You have to be able to attend the clinical sites for labs and clinical rotations, but you can commute. They used to require you to live within 50 miles, now they just highly recommend it. I travel and get a hotel for my clinical dates. It is not the most practical way to do things, but you can do it. So, if you are willing to make the commute and travel for clinicals then yes, you could do it. I mean theoretically if you wanted to fly cross country for clinical rotations and were willing to pay the cost you could do it. I live out of state from the clinical site that I attend and I know I am not the only one who is crossing state lines to attend. Is that what you were asking? The theory work is all online and can be done from home.

How many clinical days did you have?

I am glad to see this pop up. I am no longer in the military. I use to be but if I move back home to Sacramento I wanted to make sure I could still get into the program. My enrollment counselor told me that if the committee picked their students, they would pick the ones closer to the clinical sites before ones more than 50 miles away.

That kind of discouraged me with that part.

I was taking my sciences with straghterline but I prefer to take them in class so I am going to cancel those and do my courses on campus instead.

It would give me a better option of whether to stay with and finish my enrollment or if a school is better for me in Sacramento then I can go there without having them tell me that I have to take my sciences again because they won't take straighterline courses.

I would also like to know about the days as well. How often and how many days at one time.

You have 72 hours for most clinicals. So it kind of works like this, every 5-7 weeks or so you'll have to go to clinicals. They do their clinicals in 2 week blocks at the end of the course which I love. So pretty much every 5 or 6 weeks I plan to have to go down there and then it's a 72 hours during the 2 weeks. The only thing that stinks is you don't get an exact schedule you only know that the 72 hours will fall during those 2 weeks. So, you really have to be able to be flexible. You can find out your exact schedule anywhere from 1-3 weeks in advance. Hope that helps.

This helps so much!
