Nursing Students Western Governors

HI

I saw a spot on my local news station about a online school that has a RN-BSN at a resonable tuition. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I am a RN from a diploma school and I am just thinking about going for my BSN in order to be able to sit for the WOCN test. I plan on decreasing my hours from my nite med surg hospital job and it just may be a good time while I am home. I will pay for it myself so I am not tied into staying at my hosptial.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

I looked into it, and if I'm remembering correctly, they are not accredited.

Worse than not accredited. They are a diploma mill.

WGU is NOT a diploma mill. I am currently enrolled and I work EXTREMELY hard in my classes to EARN my BSN in nursing, so if you don't know what you are talking about perhaps it would be best to not say anything at all. In regards to their accreditation, they have recently been reviewed and are that much closer to receiving FULL accreditation. I implore you to do your own research, call and ask questions I am sure you will be enlightened as to the proper information you will receive. Not the least of which is their affordable tuition because they are a not for profit school, but again do your research and decide for yourself. My experience thus far has been an extremely positive one and I hope that you will come to find this out for yourself. Just my $.02

Sounds like Js408 is just making some ridiculous and uneducated speculation. is NOT a diploma mill, is NON-PROFIT, and is not accredited at the moment but WILL BE. Think about it. Why would a prestigious hospital like Cedars Sinai want to risk their own reputation by participating in a diploma mill??? You've got the Nursing director at Cedars encouraging staff members of her own hospital to enroll in this program. Before you go out and start making stupid assumptions like that, go do your homework first!

I just finished looking at their web site and they are NOT CCNE nor NLNAC accredited which marks them off my list as a possibility. My employer requires that the school is accredited by one or both of them or they won't give up the cash for me to go :D

Still lookin'
