Is anyone starting the MSN in Leadership in January? I am excited to get started and hope this excitement will last.

I'd love to hear from my classmates!

Good luck! I'm finishing my last term right now, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is a very supportive forum, feel free to ask questions.

I am starting the MSN Leadership Feb. 1st :), I am excited too!

What was your academic background? How did you find the work load? I'm a bit worried about the length/amount of papers required.

I graduated from an ADN program in 2006. Started the RN-BSN program at in 7/2011 and graduated in 12/2012 (3 terms). Then I started the MSN program in 6/2013 and will graduate in 5/2015 (4 terms).

I am a strong writer, and don't find paper-writing to be difficult. That said, I do not spend a lot of time on schoolwork. About 5-6 hours/week. I pretty much just do schoolwork on Saturdays, when I go to the library from about 10am until 3 or 4pm. And I've often spent weeks at a time doing nothing school-related at all. And I did not have any problems finishing the BSN in 3 terms, nor will I have difficulty finishing the MSN in 4 terms. Had I spent a steady regular amount of time, even 10 hours a week instead of 5, I'm sure I could have finished much quicker.

I would try not to worry too much about the papers.

I will be starting the MSN - Nursing Education January 1st, so a little bit of a different road, but we will be starting our MSNs together! I am excited as well!!

GOOD LUCK!!

I am too. I'm currently the evening charge on an inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit. I also teach the Psychiatric Nursing course, theory and one clinical this semester, at the local community college. I need the MSN to become regular faculty. I'm glad to hear Klone say 5 hours a week is enough.

I think this week we should be contacted by our mentors. I bought the new Kindle. I was excited. I think I'll have to start with statistics and biochem. Not exciting subjects but I'll try to have an open mind. My students taught me about Quizlets. Has anyone utilized those?

I currently wrapping up my last last class in the RN-BSN track and planning to begin the BSN-MSN Leadership & Management coursework starting Jan. '15. I'm super excited and and anxious to get started! Good Luck to you.

I'm hopeful to start the same program in January. Good Luck to you.

Good luck to you! Do you happen to have a list of courses that will be taken? I'm looking on their website and can't find it. Just curious of what this program will consist of.

For the MSN-Leadership, I feel that this is a versatile degree. What exactly, can someone do with this type of degree? Can they be a DON, PCL, or something else? I feel that I would be able to help nurses with this type of degree as I have been in the trenches for so long, by being able to really make a change for the better for the care they can provide. If anyone can offer any type of additional information as the paths this degree can take you I would greatly appreciate it.
