Hello all!

For all of you experienced students, how long do yall think it will take to do 34 credits? I just got my trans evals back and they said I needed 34 credits to complete my degree. What do yall think? Thanks in advance for your time!!

I also need 34 credits to earn the BSN degree... I started May 1st and am already done with my first course, and have completed 60 percent of the second class.

Some people have completed 34 credits in 6 months or less, but anyone who devotes 15+ hours to studying per week should be able to definitely get it done in a year or less.

I cleared 39 units in 8 months. I live in California and the community Health practicum took the most time and coordination. Initially I set a goal of 3 units per month to finish in one year with a 6 unit month, but as you get used to the system you move faster. I would typically do 1-2 tasks per week. If I passed an objective pre assessment, I would head straight into the assessment. Also don't be afraid to turn in so so work. The graders are pretty awesome about telling you exactly what needs correcting. I also took 3 vacations and Christmas week off in the 8 months. How many units you clear varies greatly on experience, life distractions and motivation. There are several co-workers of mine in this program and we are all over the map in time frames. I probably spent 10-15 hours per week. Good luck!

Wow! Thanks for the response Commuter and JaymeeDavis. I am super thankful you were that detailed. I am gaining confidence because of you guys. I have everything finished except for background check (I think that will be ok haha) and some final loan stuff. I am probably going to wait a month or two because we have a newborn. Jaymee, thanks again for your response. It is very practical.

Just curious....Did either of yall get your masters?

Nope, not there yet..... :)

I have an ASN degree and just started 's RN-to-BSN program on May 1st. So far I've completed two courses (Care of the Older Adult DPV1 and Biochemistry GRT1), and am halfway done with a third course (Organizational Systems RTT1). Did I mention I've been in this program for less than a month?

If all goes well with WGU, I might continue on for their online MSN or the MS in management and leadership.

I had to do 37 credits and started in October, 2013. I have 2 classes left so I am guessing it will take me 9 or 10 months.

I think I could have done it quicker if I had checked out their facebook page a little earlier.

I got a lot of great tips and advice there.

19154 - I am starting in July or August (haven't decided) and I am curious to know how did their facebook help? Is there a search feature or how did you use that to help?

There is a RN to BSN facebook group. You can search for it and then ask for admission into the group. You don't have to be an active student to be in the group, I always see people popping up in the group that are thinking about WGU and have questions. The group participants always ask great questions and the people in the group chime in with the answers about how to study or if there are problems with Taskstream. I am a member but am currently not on facebook; I am almost done WGU and I want to concentrate on finishing, not wasting my time on the internet............which is sort of what I am doing now. :)

haha good call. Thanks!

Search on "WGU RN to BSN Discussion Group"for the group. It's a very helpful group, definitely helpful for newbies trying to navigate through . :)

Thanks featherzRN. I requested to join group. I am super excited!
