Feel like I'm getting close, and first time a course mentor emailed me!

This is the first time in 3+ years of being at , that I actually had a course mentor email me to check on how I was doing! Completely on her own. How nice! She was probably thinking "What the hell, this chick has been working on this class for FIVE MONTHS! I better make sure she's still alive!" :)

This is also the first time in my MSN program that I've had a task returned to me, so maybe that's what prompted the email!

When I'm done with this class (just have some minor revisions on my last task, which I will resubmit tomorrow), all I will have left to do are my capstone classes! Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck, you are getting there.

You can do it!

I am so worried about the capstone. It was fine when I only had to worry about myself to finish the work but having to find and depend on someone else is nerve-racking! ! I don't know anyone with an MSN much less with the time or desire to agree to take me on as a preceptee. Also, maybe I am just tired from all of the nursing theory but I cannot come up with anything I am so passionate about as to make this Interesting and worthwhile!! Good luck on yours!

In what area of nursing do you work?

I'm very fortunate that when I started my current position (entry level management/supervisory) my employer assigned me a formal mentor for a leadership class I took. She has her MSN, and I'm sure she would be willing to precept me again for these final classes.

I'm constantly doing QI projects, both big and little, for my current job, so I'm actually looking forward to it! Good luck - it's nice to be able to chat with someone who appears to be around the same place I am in the program (I'm not on Facebook, so I don't have access to that group).

I am on Facebook but I didn't even know there was a group! I work in a small, critical access hospital on the coast. I am a night shift charge nurse on an acute care unit. I think you are probably farther ahead than I am. I have only taken 2 of the graduate courses, I figure the capstone term is a year away yet- I'm just psyching myself out over it! I also never knew there was a section at allnurses for until this week. I have not had anybody to talk to about it so it is nice to read some of the old threads.

Wow, got emailed from another course mentor! I'm sure it was as a result of having this last paper returned (had to add literally one extra paragraph and I resubmitted it). She wanted to know if there was anything I needed from her so that I can pass this course on time (my semester ends in 2 weeks). I have to say, I'm highly impressed with the support being demonstrated by the course mentors in the MSN program!
