Care of the Older Adult

Nursing Students Western Governors

Hey AN family :)

So, after speaking to my mentor for the first time she suggested I start out by taking Care of the Older Adult and then Bio-Chem. I have already started some of the Bio-Chem tasks so I took a break to check out Care of the Older Adult. I took the pre-assessment just to see how well I would do and which areas to focus on. My pre-assessment score was 75% and the passing score is a 66%. You can imagine my excitement. Did I do well because I am still fresh out of nursing school and having taken the NCLEX not too long ago?

Anyone have similar experiences? I am sure I could have easily failed it, but is the pre-assessment really a good indicator of how well I will do on the objective exam? Just thought I would see how others have done.

Thanks :)

The pre-assessment is very similar to the objective assessment. In fact, some of the questions will be identical on both exams. I would go ahead and schedule an appointment to take the objective assessment to quickly earn your 3 credits and get this course out of the way.

Yes, just take the objective assessment and get it out of the way. Getting out of school recently definitely helps. I am a recent grad too.

I just had my first phone call with my mentor yesterday and will also be starting with Care of the Older Adult (I think that is standard). My start date is 11/1 so I wont' get my webcam for a bit. Maybe I'll take the PA tonight and see how it goes! Thanks for the inspiration!

I will take another pre-assessment just to see if I will consistently pass on all 3 attempts. If I do then it is obvious I am ready. If I can find a local testing center and schedule something sooner than the webcam I will just do it. So, do we get the turnitin and taskstream log in information after our start date?

If you passed the first preassessment, there is absolutely no need to take another. Do not drag the process out due to worrying. Have confidence and finish quickly.

If I recall correctly, the TaskStream login info is provided during the first week of school after the official start date. There's no separate Turn-It-In login because all assignments submitted to TaskStream are automatically scanned by Turn-It-In.
