So, Boeing is going to build a new plane

Looks like Boeing is going to offer a new plane to competewith the Airbus line. Word is it will be built in Everett. It will create or secure many jobs in the area.

Assembled in Everett is the correct term. Japan is making the wings, Italy is making the body, France will probably make the engines and landing gear.

Now the good part. Governor Locke pushed through "tax incentives" for Boeing that amounts to 3 BILLION dollars in the next 20 years. So Washington State is now paying Boeing $150,000 for EACH job added for the next 20 years.

Seems to me that more people would have been satisfied if they would have paid the 1000 "non-workers" $50,000 each for the next 20 years, gave a 2 Billion tax break to the rest of the states population.

Perhaps we can get a tax break pushed through to increase the programs that will provide nurses and health care for the "little people".

Sometimes I feel all politicians and the PAC's should be put on a small island in the Pacific and forgotten about.

Yep it's a crock. Boeing WILL eventually leave the Seattle area, and probably the US to go to either Brazil or Argentina, if the South American version of NAFTA goes through. I see people every day at work who don't have enough to get by, and all Gov Gary wants to do is reach further into our pockets. At least he could fully fund the payments to the SNFs and NHs in Washington. Many are JUST ekeing by.

We need to unLocke Washington. At least he is not running for reelection. Maybe he knows he would not get re-elected.

I am grateful for what I have. What I am NOT grateful for is a government that continues to take and take from the fruits of my labor and WASTE it. :angryfire

I give to charities to help people in other lands who need help, and I research those charities to ensure that the people get the help, not those scammers who run some charities, or even worse, some tin pot third world dictator who lives like a king while the people in his country starve to death on their dollar a day. Corruption in the third world countries is the biggest reason for world wide poverty. Just as the US and other first world nations could produce enough food to feed the starving of the world, there is currently no infrastructure in place to ensure that the food is deliverable to the end users.

Platitudes do us no good when we have real problems in our backyard to take care of.
