Seattle University BSN (Transfer) Applicants 2014

U.S.A. Washington

I didn't find any threads on Seattle University BSN for Fall 2014; just wanted to know who else is applying!

Csweet thank you so much for that. It really does I live in Silverdale which is an hour ferry ride so now I have an idea of what I need to start doing. Weird question, hate to keep picking your brain, but I received an email yesterday about open house. In it, it said "admitted nursing students must confirm or decline Seattle University’s offer of admission into the BSN degree program by May 5'', I have already paid the $200 enrollment fee is there something else I need to do to say that I confirm my admission into the BSN degree? I emailed Gwen Jackson but she is out of the office. I just want to make sure I have not missed anything anywhere :)

Enrollment fee is all you need! Your ferry ride will be helpful for naps and last minute reviews for tests :)

also, there will be a nursing transfer advising sessions offered. Take the first one offered if you can, that way you can register for classes and will get to pick your schedule. :)

Csweet, do u mean the summer orientation? i heard from college of nursing that there will be a "survey" emailed around may5-6 that lets us pick a orientation date where we can get advice/register?

Yeah, it was called Transfer success orientation. Last year there were two options, one in may and one in july. I went to the one in may and was able to pick the professors I wanted and get the schedule that worked best for me and my family. Probably isn't as important if you are more flexible with your schedule.

Hopefully there are guys that attend the orientation that needs roommates.

I'd like to live in the Quads at the Douglas, or the Quads in the Murphy apartments. Each person has their own room, and everybody shares the kitchen and the living room, etc.

I was hoping to meet possible roommates from the native class, but since they started their nursing classes, I'm guessing they are already set with their living situation.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! Sorry for the late post but I am just now seeing this blog and it has given me a lot of motivation to try again since I was also rejected for this year. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Detroit, MI and didn't do so well in school but I know I have what it takes to do well.. I just had a lot of bumps in the road during my years in school. I don't like to make excuses for whats already happened so any suggestions how to improve my chances for next year? I have looked into volunteering and have a lot of volunteering experience from the hospitals I lived near back in Detroit. Should I retake a couple classes I didn't do so well in as well?

Also, I went to the grad school open house at SU a couple weeks ago and spoke to the nursing group. I asked for some advice and the man said it would be in my favor to "know people and have connections." This is difficult since I am new to Seattle and I did not plan to apply anywhere out of state but any suggestions to how to get an "in" with people? I work at a very small private doctors clinic so there is no room to grow here.

It's up to you if ur willing to retake classes because around this area, wa in general, have a 5 year science expiration? off course, not all school so please look into that. For SU specificly, I really think it's all about that one essay that they made us write. I read the prompt over and over and make sure i address everything they made me too answer without being redundant and be clear! My essay was not long at all. A technique I do is tell a story ( that relates to nursing) while still answering the prompt? Don't get me wrong, I applied to like 5 schools, so the best way is really to apply to more than 2/3 schools. I feel that getting to nursing school each year is getting harder.

Thanks Csweet. I hope that I am able to get some good class times because of my commute. Are there any professors that you would recommend?

I'll message you :)

Thanks, csweet, I think the scheduling thing is something that we were all wondering about!

Hey everyone! I was accepted into the 2015 cohort. I was curious what the SU financial aid package was like you received? Did anyone have to take out private loans, or were there sufficient federal loans given? Money is a huge factor in my decision to attend. Cheers!
