Washington Hospital Center Residency February 2011 COHORT

U.S.A. Washington DC

Published

Hello everyone I wanted to start a separate thread for people interviewing for the February 2011 Residency, I just got the e-mail a couple of minutes ago saying that I will be interviewing in December 16, I graduated in May and this is my first interview :uhoh3: so I am a little bit nervous.

If anybody that went to program has any tips, I will appreciate it! Thanks!:nurse:

I applied and was emailed the possible interview dates. I sent a reply email listing my three choices and stated that I would be available any of the dates listed. This was a week ago today and still have not received a confirmation email with a set date! I'm getting slighty nervous!

Hello everyone! :nurse: I just came home from my interview and I think it well really well, I only got to interview with the nurse manager from a stroke unit, and not he other units I had for my first priorities. She gave me a tour of the Unit, and her personality made the whole process much easier, but I was still a little bit nervous.

Some tips for the people coming to Washington Hospital Center for their interview:

1) Eat before you get there, the whole process might take 2 hours, since you interview with a nurse manager and a recruiter, and you might tour the unit as well.

2) If you can sit on the chairs on the isles since they will call your name, and you will have to go towards the side of the auditorium and is easier to get around.

3)Review clinical stuff, such what kind of assestments and interventions should be done for certain patients, and what kind of things the doctor might order.

4)Everyone was really nice, so don't stress out too much.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! ILL LET YOU KNOW IF I GOT HIRED.

I went to the interview today. I was a little disappointed because there were not a lot of Unit Nursing Managers available. I ended up interviewing with a Unit Manager from a floor that I did not sign up for. I think that it went well, but I do not know what to expect now. Did anyone find out what we can expect now after the interview?

Does it pay for me to fill out the application now? It sounds like they already have all their interviews lined up for Feb. I did not discover this program until today.

If it is still listed on the website then I would complete an application. From what I was told they are looking to hire 100 people. I had my interview yesterday and 1/3 of the people didn't show due to the weather.

Hello,

Have any tips about the interview?

How has everyone been getting to the interview metro or driving?

My interview is in Jan.

Thanks so much and good luck to everyone

Newrn1986 had some good tips.

I drove to the interview. Unless you know the hospital I would advise getting there EARLY so you can find your way around. I was interviewed by two people at once and then they took me for a tour of the floor.

Good luck!

Hi all!

I applied on November 26th and received an email asking me to pick an interview date on December 7th. The email said that they would send me a confirmation email, which I have not received as of today. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm just wondering if I should move on... Thanks guys!

I applied but Washington DC has a high cost of living... not sure i could afford to live there on a nurse's salary.

The same thing happened to me :(
