Washington Hospital Center RN residency - need letter of rec at interview?

U.S.A. Washington DC

Published

I was wondering for those who have interviewed for the Washington Hospital Center RN residency program, did you need to have letters of recommendation in hand? I just received an email today that my interview is this FRIDAY. I would be coming from Seattle so this is an investment. The faculty at the school I went to are out of office until next week since we are on the quarter system. I know I can get letters mailed in but doubt I can have them by Friday.

The job posting says to bring letters, but the confirmation email I got about my interview only says to bring my licenses/certifications and college degree. No mention of letters.

If I need letters I will not bother flying out to DC which would be a shame. It's so hard for new grads to find jobs around here. I'll call HR tomorrow but am under a time crunch so was wondering if anyone had input about this?

I interview on the 8th as well. Soooooo nervous about the clinical questions.:uhoh3:

Thanks for all the helpful posts! I'm interviewing for the February 2011 cohort, and I was wondering if previous hires to the residency program had an idea of the interview to hire ratio?

I appreciate any information that you can provide!

hi everyone! my name is Alison and i am a new grad RN. i got emailed for an interview next week Dec 8. I am very excited and was wondering if yall had any specific tips? i was reading through your comments and i see they are going to ask "clinical" type questions? what were some examples of the ones you guys answered? i just would like to have some sort of idea. i am really hoping to get this job...i am flying all the way from California (Bay Area). Also, what starting salary did they offer you? any info or tips would be appreciated. thank you!

Hi Alison,

I hope your interview went well! I'm from Oregon and have an interview at WHC on the 6th of January, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to fly out. What was your opinion of the interview process? Is there a decent chance of being hired?

Thanks!

Janelle

For those of you that have started at WHC, what unit did you begin on and how was it for a new grad?

I just had interview today which went well. I'm trying to email thank you letter to both HR and director. However, one for director keeps coming back at some reason. I have no idea how I can reach her. Did you guys send thank you letter thru email?
