NAS 161 & 162 at the same time

Has anyone taken NAS 161/162 at the same time, particularly at J. Sargeant Reynolds? I'm trying to save a semester, but I also don't want to risk getting B's in both classes instead of A's one at a time.

Thanks!

Ladybrett, I took both A&P courses at the same time at Marymount University and made straight A's in both courses. It's doable, you'll just really need to put in some hard work. I took both classes along with Microbiology. All the best!

Histown, that is VERY impressive. Most people can't even pull of an A in one or both.

I didn't do it and frankly I wouldn't recommend it. Especially considering I know nothing about you or what you are capable of. If you have a strong health science background and feel like the topics are fairly easy, then go right ahead. But they are not easy classes, and not for the lighthearted.

I have to agree with furturn, you seem to be very ambitious!!!!!Getting a A is hard so taking both at the same time would be a lot!!!I would not do it.

I took bio 141 and 142 at the same at nova. I got an A in one and B for the other - I also worked full time and had a long commute so fatigue got to me in the end and caused me to slack off. My point - it is doable if you are directed and can focus for several months. I don't mind the B - but if you feel that it would be catastrophic for your plans to not get an A in both - then you should consider taking them one at a time.

This is a little late but I took NAS 161 @ JSR as an 8 week course with the intention of taking 162 for 8 weeks as well. However, NAS 161 was too much for me, and I decided to take 162 as a regular 16 week course. I couldn't do it, but there were some people who did very well. I got a C which lowered my GPA significantly. I will probably have to retake 161 to make up for the C. If you take them during the same semester, you'll have to study several hours every single day as 161 goes through 2 chapters per week, and 162 goes through 3 chapters. Good luck to you if you are currently in it.
