J. Sargeant Reynolds RN Program 2012-2013

Hey Everybody!

I was curious to know if anyone else applied to the JSR RN program for the Fall 2012. Would you be willing to post your stats??? (GPA, Kaplan scores, etc). I feel very blessed b/c I orginally thought I'd missed the deadline but one evening while I was surfing the web I saw where JSR had extended their deadline...I was able to make it to the last information session, May 7th...and I took the Kaplan test all on the same day (Passed!) and applied to the program the following week.

My stats are a 3.8 GPA, 89% Math and 86% Reading (ran out of time)...not the greatest scores but I can't complain...I had no time to study before taking the test...oh yeah and a pre-req GPA of 3.5 (receive B's in my A&P courses and a 'C' in ENG 111) with no previous degree.

Anyone else out there on the waiting train to hear back from JSR nursing dept???

I'm almost positive that your GPA is 1 of the top grades submitted so don't stress to much about that and the admissions lady is very much a human before an admissions personal so I now she looks at the big picture :o) I hope that we all get in and become great nurses with the training that they teach us.... :o) !

Hey how are you doing? The last time you posted you seemed kinda stress so I just wanted to make sure you're okay.

Ahh, it's June. I really hope we hear something soon. Anyone heard anything? I'm taking summer classes this semester (Eng 112, Stat, CPR cert, Med term) to keep me busy and also to help for when I go back and get my bachelors/masters. Going to try to go to VCU when I *hopefully* finish at J.Sarge with my RN and these are some of the classes I'll need. It's been keeping me busy and my mind off of this rejecting/acceptance mess. How is everyone else doing with the wait? I'm super nervous. I also really need to know because I have to know whether or not I need to enroll my kids into Primrose for the year. I'm going to be cutting it close if we don't find out til the end of June/beg July. I want to get them enrolled a week before classes start. lol. Sorry for the vent!

Hey Lav42788 :o) I'm also taking Med terminology (Liverman) & I took CPR on 5/21-5/22 I was gonna take 112 & Stat but I was made to take non stress classes during the summer so I'm taking aerobics & I took saltwater fishing ...lol. I spoke with the admissions lady on last Thursday & she said that everything will be sent out soon (within 2 weeks) to selected candidates so I have my fingers crossed for all of us. A girl in my aerobics class submitted on the original 3/31 date and she got her letter at the end of April. She told me her Kaplan was both in the 80's and her GPA was 3.2 so if that's any help I hope you are less stress;0)

Aprilslife, That makes me feel so much better! Keeping my fingers crossed for us! Post when you get your acceptance!

Does anybody know when or how we will hear as to whether or not we've been accepted into this program. Will it be by email or mail? With them already having accepted a bulk of the students I figured we would hear back pretty quickly. Does anyone have any updates???

No updates yet. When I dropped by application the admissions lady said that we would hear back by the end of June at the latest ( that way we would all be able to be ready for Fall start). I believe we get letters via mail from what she said, but if you were missing something in application or they needed to ask you a question you would be emailed. I haven't gotten anything yet :). Hopefully soon. I hate the wait!

Hey, aprincess & Lav42788....I found out today acceptance letters went out in the mail yesterday....so I have my fingers crossed for all of us.

Wow, yea fingers crossed. Who told you this? Let me know when you hear something.

I was in the nursing office today and the secretary called the admissions lady and asked when the 5/21 applicants were going to get letters ...YIKESSSSSS!!!!!! I'm so freaking nervous :-/

Let me know as well ...

You'll get in your scores were so good on the Kaplan and you have that 4.0. I wouldn't even stress. So let me know when you GET IN. lol. I'm so worried. With that "F" from 2006 factored in English it makes my GPA look terrible (Even though I have worked my tush off since then and really do have a good GPA :/). Hopefully we'll hear tomorrow? Usually if something goes in the mail it takes about 2 days when it's in the same city/state.
