Register Today!- Jan 28 by TxMonciYou all have it easy! Yall don't even want to know about my AC its just never right......
- Jan 28 by middlesisterFor some reason I have not got my grade back on the objective data, just the subjective data. I also missed the 24 hour diet recall. I see in week three subjective under heart and neck vessels we should probably copy and paste the diet in the lifestyle and health practices as question 3 is usual diet and exercise patterns.
- Jan 28 by MeriwhenQuote from middlesisterIf it's any consolation, I missed that darn 24 hour diet recall for three consecutive weeks :/For some reason I have not got my grade back on the objective data, just the subjective data. I also missed the 24 hour diet recall.
However, my coach (can't recall his/her name) didn't ding me as harshly as some of you were dinged. I lost 2 or 3 points max each time. Perhaps that's why I didn't pick up on missing it right away... - Jan 28 by ScarletFireQuote from middlesisterReceived an e:mail that grades for week 2 will be delayed 24 hours due to a problem with Blackboard (more likely it is a problem with the AC), I don't know, but they are still not in for me.For some reason I have not got my grade back on the objective data, just the subjective data. I don't know why the 24 diet thing is such a big deal with them. If you look ahead to week 4, we have to do 4 of them!!!!! Yes, we all know how to cut and paste, but that is not the point. How is this task helping us learn to be better nurses?.........It's not. It is an outrageous waste of time and it is an insult to us as nurses. It might be different if we were to subsequently do an analysis of nutritional status; maybe then this exercise would have value. But to merely state that our client had a turkey sandwich and iced tea for lunch and have that be a mandated and important part of this assignment is absurd. They love to call us "Professional Nurses" who should be elevated almost to the status of physicians and they have us waste time on this nonsense. - Jan 28 by NeonursejQuote from middlesisterI asked my coach about the 24 hour diet and she stated that it was in our message from dr mike. For some reason I have not got my grade back on the objective data, just the subjective data. - Jan 28 by NeonursejQuote from MeriwhenI guess when it comes to diet, I am going to just copy and paste every week!If it's any consolation, I missed that darn 24 hour diet recall for three consecutive weeks :/ However, my coach (can't recall his/her name) didn't ding me as harshly as some of you were dinged. - Jan 28 by MeriwhenQuote from NeonursejI wouldn't do that, because it'd be dishonest unless your patient eats the very same thing every Tuesday like my autistic son does. Even then, it'd still stick out and raise an eyebrow.I guess when it comes to diet, I am going to just copy and paste every week!
Just get a quick summary of what they've eaten over the last 24. If your subject happens to be a family member and you happen to be the family cook, you know what they're eating and can fill in most of the blanks
- Jan 28 by amyrnfaQuote from MeriwhenYes, make sure you are not using the same diet, coldspas, etc. each time, although some of the history questions are redundant.I wouldn't do that, because it'd be dishonest unless your patient eats the very same thing every Tuesday like my autistic son does. I hear you Meriwhen. My son is VERY ritualistic with a mild form of ASD. I should have used him for my Health Assessment, but doing a physical on him would have been painful for me more than taking that class.
- Jan 28 by MeriwhenQuote from amyrnfaI didn't use the son either because he wouldn't have tolerated such in-depth assessments very well: in addition to the ASD he's a bit on the hyperactive side...and he would not have been a good historian either.Yes, make sure you are not using the same diet, coldspas, etc. each time, although some of the history questions are redundant.

The better half was a far more compliant subject. All I had to do was bake a cake every week and I got a willing participant
- Jan 28 by rosemrnI am sick of this week already. Just spent almost 5 hours on the objective assignment. I am exhausted. Hope I do better on the quiz this week!
Hope everyone is well!!
