Getting an early start on the support group thread for the August 4465 class.

I heard it's second only to Research in terms of horror level...though having just survived Research, I'm optimistic about this one--it can only be better than Research was.

I got my grade back on the windshield survey! I got an A, but was counted off and there were only two comments, one to be more specific about the boundaries of the area (which said to check the instructions) and the other was "good effort, more detail needed in several areas." So, aside from the fact that there were instructions in multiple places for this assignment, how did you describe your area?

I really wish she would have given me more specific comments, the two I got don't help very much!

Windshield survey was very time consuming, and I see much more in my future - Ugh is right! Quiz was OK though. Just so tired of writing. Must hang on and finish - 4 more weeks of this, then 4 more classes!

I wish I had my grade already. As far as boundaries I gave the name of the town and zip code and stated that the specific area started at a middle school and extended 10 blocks out from all directions.

I don't think it matters in this class if one can follow the feed back from the coach. I don't think we have to correct anything and put it all together in a big paper. Although I haven't read ahead at all the assignments.

A heads-up: apparently the new Bb updates the grade as the ACs are in the process of grading. I logged in this morning to a grade of 33 for the Windshield. She had only graded the first couple of items--the remainder of the rubric was unmarked.

After having the MI, making coffee and checking that my document was submitted in its entirety, I figured things out and waited a couple of hours. When I logged back in later, the rubric showed that grading was completed, and the correct grade was posted.

So if you have a really low grade on an assignment, check the rubric. If parts of the rubric are not highlighted with how you did, your AC isn't finished grading so don't panic--just try checking later.

And if everything is highlighted on the rubric and your grade is low, then panic.

Haha "after having the MI..." Made me chuckle!

Great info to know! I think you just prevented me from having an epic meltdown if I saw that! Hope you did well!

The week 2 assignment is killing me. I really want to scream and throw my computer out the window. It is so much data to find and then I have to make a table/graph to go with it to make it make since. I was able to copy and paste one graph from a website, but the rest I have had to make. I'm glad I work the next 2 days and don't have to look at this assignment again till Wednesday.

I ended up doing much better than I thought on week 1. I'm glad I made the coffee first before I did anything rash, because as I had coffee I started thinking that it couldn't really be a 33...

I'm not optimistic about the quiz--I was going to spend the day studying for it but I ended up having to replace the tires on my truck, so there went 4 hours. I know I have until Tuesday but I think I'll just take it and get it over with even if I bomb it...because it looks like I'll need as much free time as possible for the week 2 assignment. Statistical research. Whee :(

For week 2 ladies, do you know if we are using the graded template to continue week 2 assignment, or the original submitted template?

My understanding is that we use the template that was returned with the AC's feedback.

However, definitely double-check this information, as I know that 10 points is at stake if we use the wrong template.

My AC sent us a template to use. I'm confused as to why, then, the week 1 template has all the rest of them on it?

I believe that we use the corrected assignment from our coach then just add to it. I hope we don't need to go back and correct because I got a lot of comments that said to be more specific.

I'm having a hard time with week 2. There are so many statistics and I can't find everything on the same website, so I have to merge from multiple places into one table. Whine, complain, whatever. So, I can't figure out how to cite references in my table. I asked, the coach told me to refer to my APA manual. Duh! I just can't find it specifically laid out anywhere. I hate when I get so caught up in finding the perfect info or formatting Word that I can't even focus on the assignment itself (this seems to be my biggest downfall!)

So, I still haven't taken the quiz. I prepared for it at work but my Internet was cutting in and out so I thought better of it and decided to take advantage of the extension and do it tonight when I have more stable Internet and the potential for fewer interruptions.

I'm already dreading this weeks assignment. Im hoping to spend tomorrow night doing all of my holistic care of the adult work and the DB for this class and then will devote Wednesday night, Thursday night and Saturday afternoon and evening to the assignment. Hope it's enough time!
