NURS 4465 - Vulnerable Populations (starting 8/12/13)

Getting an early start on the support group thread for the August 4465 class.

I heard it's second only to Research in terms of horror level...though having just survived Research, I'm optimistic about this one--it can only be better than Research was.

That's actually a blessing in disguise...I just got an e-mail 20 minutes ago from the lead AC telling us what the correct book is. Apparently what is on the syllabus and listed in the UTA bookstore isn't what we're using.

Seriously?! They better push out due dates! That's a major error! Plus now we need to pay for expedited shipping. Ridiculous!

I can't even find the correct book on the UTA bookstore website. I don't think they sell it.

Same book issues here. I rented my book from book renter and can return it for free. Ordered my new book just now from them, should be here in 3-7 days. In another class they let people whi didn't have their book check out an ebook from the UTA library (I didn't use it and don't know how it worked). There must be new material, hopefully this class has changed for the better!

I didn't rent the old book, but I did get it at a discount and planned to resell it anyway, so that isn't going to change because of this.

I am somewhat miffed at having to lay out $30 to rent the new book...but this is my second-to-last class and I just want to get the program over with.

Now I'm really glad I decided not to start reading ahead.

I agree! I planned to read ahead as well but told myself to enjoy the one week break - good decision!

I hear this class is awful so I'm really not excited about it!

Just got 2 emails about it. I already sent back my old book and I haven't received my new book yet. It says they are creating crosswalks and links (I hope that means ways to see the book online). Basically, I just have to wait for my book and work on things that I can do without the book (everything but the quiz?). They aren't extending the due dates on anything. Hopefully it works out.

There is an announcement on blackboard. It basically says they are making links for both versions of the text. For this week we are to read chapters 1-3 in whichever text we have.

I should get the book today as I paid for expedited shipping. I didn't get to do any work tonight at work as I had to orient a new nurse...hoping i get all of my Holistic care homework done to tonight so I can focus on this!

Do you know when the quiz will be open for holistic care? I can't access it and I have not seen a statement anywhere about when it will be open.
