This was my first travel assignment and it is 16 hours away from home, driving. When I first came here the housing was some flea bag whore motel. My recruiter stated he had no other issues with nurses staying there. Lies!!! I was told by a supervisor at my facility that they have had travelers never show up because of that. So then the housing that I found was 1400 a month and it was a room at at B&B, a nice room but I wasn't saving any money at all. My recruiter NEVER called to check in on me, even though it was my first assignment. I was depressed for a while about it but after 2 months I found a place cheaper. The recruiters care about the $$$$ that is all. I will not let it stop me from traveling but this is an experience to remember and definitely a valuable lesson. Stay away from Core

That is also who I used for my first assignment and he straight up lied to me about how much housing would cost me in Hawaii where I was sent (since they do not offer housing there apparently only the mixed pay rate which was LOW). The cheapest furnished place I could find cost HALF of my take home pay per month. I don't answer their calls anymore.

Oh my goodness that is horrible! My coworker worked with them and also and didn't have anything good to say either.

She now works with the same agency/recruiter as me and we both LOVE our experience so far. I am a pretty big baby when it comes to traveling and my recruiter has been beyond helpful. I had worked with several agencies in the past and no one has come close to providing the help and knowledge that this one has. That kind of housing nonsense would NEVER happen with this company :)

Don't give up though...traveling is amazing. Hope you have better luck with your next assignment!

Well, that is awesome! At the very least, it shows how important your recruiter is. I say that because in general, I've seen a lot of negative comments on Flexcare in the past. I always figured that was because I thought they were big in per diem and I don't think any per diem agency is well liked.

I did a few minutes of research online and I'm a bit confused about Flexcare. All the official Flexcare sites I found only talk about travel nursing. Yet job boards list 5,000 open per diem jobs. They are a privately held company so no financials are available which reveal a lot about what a business does.

A quick search here turned up good and bad comments, and reminded me that I've looked at a Flexcare contract and in my opinion, it was well above average for fairness. If the agency has the same tone as their contracts, I'd give them a thumbs up.

Anyway, I'm glad you had a good experience with them. I expect a lot of readers here will be checking them out!

I also searched Flexcare on this site a little bit earlier and was pretty shocked myself with the reviews. These reviews are a little outdated, though. When I first looked into switching companies, I just looked at Travel Nursing Central from a Google search and saw over 200 great reviews about Flexcare so I thought it would be worth it to check them out. It sure was!

Also, after speaking with my recruiter, she had informed me that they are not big on per diem positions whatsoever. There are so many travel assignments to choose from it was almost overwhelming! As far as honesty, Flexcare has been the most upfront with me. Within minutes of me logging on to their website, I was able to speak with a recruiter and see actual take home pay options, rather than having to wait until the contract was presented to me.

Anyway, I think you are right and I hope others can benefit from checking them out as well :)
