Specializes in Critical Care.

Hi all,

I am interviewing with Starmed on monday, I was wondering if anyone has worked for this company and if so it you liked them, any comments are welcome.

Thanks

Are you going to do travel nursing or local per diem work? I believe Starmed is closing some of their offices pretty soon. If you are going to be doing local, make sure the office is not one of the ones closing down.

A great place to find info on particular companies is;

http://forums.delphiforums.com/travelnurses/messages?fpi=yes

it is the delphi forums site for travel nurses.

Just do a word search on Starmed..you should find something that will help you, or ask in the forum.

I work with starmed and have since 2000. There have been some ups and downs and Im currently in between of an up and down at this very moment but they always seem to pull it out of their butt and straighten things out. I have been overall satisfied with the company itself but I do think they are out growing their personal service. It needs improvement.

This would be a local contract, I currently work for a agency and I wanted a backup. I did hear that Starmed and NurseFinders were going out of business, I will ask about that in the interview.

I asked my recruiter about this when I saw that post she did state that yes there were closing some of the outter offices but that was it. They are going through a "restructuring"since they joined with the rehab group.The staff has be re-assigned to other areas .(like all business , they are downsizing to increase profits)

Rehabcare group bought out Starmed over 3 years ago. Seems like an awful long time for them to get into restructuring mode. Actually, the reason for this IMO is that rehabcare stock has taken a nose dive over the last year. They had to do something as the company is becoming more devalued by the day. Also, for those really interested, rehabcare was (maybe still is) under investigation for insider trading. The CFO, and several other exec level people, of the company resigned a day before the lawsuit was announced. Basically their own shareholders are taking legal action against the company.

Starmed was never the same after rehabcare took it over. They ruined an awesome agency in my opinion.
