I'm 2/3 of the way through my contract at Pitt Memorial in Greenville, NC, and I have to say it's the best assignment I've had yet. Aside from having to take that &^%$#! PBDS, everything's been great. I'm working on Cardiac Intermediate and loving it. Also, my apartment's been so good I asked my recruiter if I could pack it up and take it with me LOL. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to other travelers, *except* for warning them about the PBDS.

Wife and I loved the greenville area!! She enjoyed Pitt CO. hospital as well. Which apartment complex were you at?? The Pointe at Wimbledon was our complex... A lil drive but very safe area...... Nothing like southern cooking!! Did you hear the comment . "We arent hillbillies this is east carolina........ not north or south!!" BTW aren't the road condition there very nice... Best roads we have traveled on so far!

I'm taking a travel position at Pitt next week, providing I pass the PBDS; any suggestions on that God-Aweful thing? How was the staff as far as administering, grading it?

When I had to take that PBDS my company had a class for it. That was the only way I would feel comfortable taking that test. It was a conference call with a few other travelers and a leasion RN. I took notes and it was very very helpful. My educater at Pitt said I did very well, I was so relieved I didn't even go back to look at how I had done. If I had to take the test again I would sign up for another conference call to refresh my memory.

Conference call for the PBDS? That sounds like a great idea. Which Agency, housemamma were you with that did that?

I don't know how you'd prepare for the PBDS. I only found out about it a week before I went there, and didn't know it would be "one and done" for travelers. It was HORRIBLE. I've expressed my feelings about it on another thread. I don't want to ever have to go through it again.

I took the PBDS in naples florida. Travelers that "flunked it" didn't have a job. I got a copy of my results, don't want to do it again. I wondered if it would become standard. Nurses only need 1 or 2 years of experience to travel, hospitals want a measuring tool. I had no heads up at all; I was traveling with American Mobile.

Medical Express has been nothing but professional and honest from the beginning. Also, housing is safe and ALWAYS free!! Never made a mistake on a paycheck or anything else. Recruiter is awesome!! Say what you will, but Medical Express Rocks!!
