Is 13 weeks enough(clinical skills)??

Just wondering if you think 13 weeks is enough to keep your skills up(M/S). Do any of you only work one contract a year? I met a traveler last year that works 2 contracts a year and spends the other half of the year living with family in Mexico. I guess I am dreaming about doing something similar working one contract a year (maybe 2). Are any of you semi retired working one travel contract and spending time with family in your home country the rest of the year? Is one contract enough to keep your skills current? What are your thoughts on clinical skills and working very little?

Thanks

I'm not asking about the financial aspect.

Generally hospitals want current experience. Translation is worked clinically in the last 12 months. 9 months off fits that criteria so I don't think it would be a problem.

Specializes in Peri-Op.

I take 4-6 mobths off a year, no problems. I plan to work only 4 months a year in a few years.
