Has anyone ever had an issue with housing? I talked to my recruiter and was all set up to move into my apt tomorrow. Well apparentlly the RN who is there now is saying she can't get a flight out until Friday and is refusing to leave. Is this possible? My recruiter said she was breaking the rules but there was nothing they could do. So, I'm probably gonna be in a hotel again for the 3rd night. I am SO mad about it! I have boxes and a package coming to the apt on tomorrow/Friday. Any suggestions? I told my recruiter that if they couldn't get me into that apt then they need to move me to a different one. I don't see y they can't make this person leave and put her in a hotel. It's total bs!

I'm so sorry that this has happened to you..I hope that your agency is funding the hotel for you. I arrived to my very first assignment this past weekend. Not only was my start date moved back for next week but there was no furniture in my apartment when I arrived. I was SOO :devil:mad and frustrated and thinking what have I gotten myself into. I took a few breaths..well alot of breaths:eek:...and called my recruiter and explain to her what happened and asked if this what I should expect from this agency? After making several calls she had the movers there with my furniture in a few hours. And I have a whole week to site see and relax before I start. I will use this as a lesson learned on what to have done before I even gas up the car. I hope that your assignment gets better! And just take a breath and try to relax...and explain to your recruiter your concerns.:)

Had a similar issue several years ago. "Housing provided by Hospital". They described what I understood to be a "Duplex" house with 2 persons living in each. Arrived to have "house full" and stayed at a "Holiday Inn" for a week. Didn't really enjoy that too much. Had a Microwave but no place to wash dishes I didn't like eating out all the time. Moved into the "house" and was back out in 3 days. NOT a duplex but a huge home with multiple small bedrooms. 2 Bathrooms and a kitchen from the 50's. I was on a 3p to 3a shift and the rest were either days or nights. I think there were 8 people total in the house. Day shift getting up when I was trying to sleep , then the night shift coming home a bit later. I had to be quiet for them when I got up so went back to the Motel for 3 months. Had photos of housing from that point on. Now I don't worry. RV's Anyone............

Horrible! So much for free private housing, if that is what the agency advertised?? Can you share which agency?

No, the company cannot just throw her out on the street.. This happens often, try to put yourself in the other person's shoes.. They are probably telling the recruiter the same thing.."Let her stay in a hotel" You might want to find out what they are paying for the unit and go find another one.
