Please post a little more to help certain individuals that may be thinking of taking assignments at this particular facility. As an educated individual I would like to make an educated decision based on facts. Please tell me where you worked, why you didn't like it, what was done that made you feel you were treated unfairly or poorly. I am not currently interested in accepting an assignment there, but I am interested in accepting an assignment with Kaiser, and I currently see the same types of vague responses. I am trying to make an educated decision based upon Kaiser facilities, but I see no specific evidence as to why I should not accept an assignment other than vague generalizations. Under my general ideas, I would say that most people would find the particular unit that I work in to be a rather difficult unit to work in simply because it is completely mixed, we see everything, and sometimes we have patients that would be one on one in some facilities, but they aren't in our specific facility (this is only a generalization as stated from nurses that have left our ICU to travel and come back), so, please elaborate in your reasoning because as travel nurses, any help would be greatly appreciated by all travel nurses. :D

sure thing..any specific questions about cedars, i can answer....i know nothing of kaiser...good luck!!

hi maverick09! I can also speak for experience and mine is at kaiser...i only can say that I am very pleased with the facility and the organization...The people i work with are just wonderful and most of them have being there for a long time, speaking about nursing retention... they so still hire a lot of travelers but its because not too overwork their staff. I never get a tough assignment there, i enjoy working with the staff...they so friendly! and helpful!

I love working for kaiser, they always respect the patient ratio which is great!...I really dont have anything negative to say about Kaiser, but If i decide to stop traveling this will be the place to stay, without a doubt.

hope it helps!

Hi!

I know it's been a while since this feed was posted, but I was wondering if travelers have had similar experiences recently? Or have the travel assignments improved?

I'm looking at CVICU? Recruiting company says we won't float a lot, but it sounds like people have had different experiences.

Thoughts?

Specializes in ICU/PACU.

You will float frequently. It's the worst hospital I've ever worked at (out of 7). However, a lot of people extend. I did, I'm not sure why. It sucks. LA hospitals are generally pretty crappy in my experience anyway. Except UCLA, but it's hard to get a travel assignment there ( tell you something?? ). Easy to get one at Cedars! I hope you're fluent in Tagalog. :) But seriously, it kinda sucks sometimes but it's doable.
