I was wondering if there were any young african american travel nurses and which assignement did u enjoy the most? On my first assignment and I'm not enjoying myself. I want to know the best places to go.

When you travel housing depends on the company. Most supply housing furnished, unless you opt to take the housing stipend. I've even seen some come with everything even the kitchenware and linen. I've never been to Cali but I have travel nurse friends that did, working with an AMN company. you'll find tons of travelers there once you go, then you can link-up and possibly travel together. Good luck to you!

I'm completely new to travel nursing AND being a member of Allnurses (although I've been stalking the forums for the past several years). I recently just signed up with 5 different travel companies (like literallly 10 minutes ago), and not sure what to do from here. I'm black, 27, and single (no children). Been an RN(BSN) for 3.5 years but not really in a specialty. 2 years was Med-Surg and 1.5 years was preop/recovery (not PACU). I'll be a MSN-FNP in 1 year as well.
Any advice for new/first time travelers?
Will it be an issue that I really don't have a "specialty"?
What's the pay like?
Where should I NOT go?
Anyone want a travel buddy? =)
