Winter 2011 GN positions/interviews in Houston, TX

OP - Match day was a hiring day at Memorial Hermann. It was a panel interview with one manager with 4 interviewee's .. there was a lot of new grads there! I thankfully made it to the second round and have my 2nd interview with the medical unit manager on Tuesday. :)

Congrats on getting past the initial interview Cindyrella. I checked out Memorial Hermann's site online and I couldn't find any information on any type of "match day." I'd love to get into something like this when I graduate in May, where did you find the information about it?

Commonsense - I don't think they advertise match day on the MH website. I found out about match day b/c I went to a career fair in August and memorial hermann reps were there. I asked the rep when they would be hiring GN and the rep told me that they would start interviewing in October or November for the January 2012 GN residency.

She asked for my resume and told me that they would be sending a mass email out to all the people who handed them a resume about "Match day" which was a mass interviewing day for potential hires. I didn't even apply to a GN position on their website, I was just called out of the blue by a recruiter who wanted to set up an interview.

I was just in the right place at the right time. Career fairs have been great for me since I went to school in Corpus and don't have any contacts in Houston.

AcceleratedRNTX - I haven't got a call yet :/ But I called and spoke with a recruiter. She said that we should sending out offers sometime this week! Im excited to hear from them! :) And yes the internship starts Nov. 28, right around the corner!

I do not know how many people they are interviewing or plan to hire on each unit. I just knowat BT in the ER , they supposely had 7 opens for new grads.

I just had my interview with HCHD this morning. I only interviewed with the nurse recruiter. They are supposed to contact us by the end of this week if chosen for a second interview. Please update if you hear anything. I will do the same! :)

Hey guys! I also applied for HCHD and havent received and interview...still hopeful tho :) I had an interview with Methodist Willowbrook, but I havent heard anything back. Has anyone else applied to Methodist Willowbrook and heard any additional news?

Are you girls talking about an internship position with HCHD or a new grad position? I've tried looking on their website but it's not very well put together and I can't seem to find much information on there.

It is not up no more. It is closed. But it was under careers under nursing intern.

I applied to Methodist West Houston but I have not heard from them.
