UTMB FALL 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone! I think it's finally time for someone to start a fall thread so here it goes. I am applying to UTHSC and UTMB for fall semester. I gave my teas test today and idk if that score is good enough or not. My GPA is 4.0 and teas individual score is 81. How did everyone else do in their test?

Omg that is fantastic. How did you score 90? it seemed almost impossible to get anything above 85. Did you submit your application?

I started studying a few weeks before taking the exam. I highly recommend the official study guide for the TEAS by ATI. I read the book cover to cover and completed every sample problem/practice test. Nearly every concept that was on the test is covered in the study guide. :)

I haven't submitted my application yet. I'm still working on my personal statement, and I'm waiting for NCAS to receive my transcript. :(

Just FYI - I was accepted for Fall 2014 and was in the first wave of interviews last Feb. Here were my stats:

Pre-Req GPA 3.8

Science GPA 4.0

TEAS 78

200+ hrs of job shadowing in the OR & L&D

I chose to stay in Lubbock and attend TTUHSC...just finished my first semester of nursing school with a 3.31 ??. I'm no longer an all A student lol...you'll just be happy to make the passing grade of 75 and above on the exams. It's challenging but so fun!!!!

Hi everyone! I will be applying to UTMB for Fall 2015 as well. I have a previous B.A., a science gpa 3.8 prereq gpa 3.5 with 2 classes left to take, and will be taking my TEAS again in January hoping to score higher than I did earlier this year. I currently work in an OB/GYN doctor's office as a medical assistant and triage patient calls. UTMB is my top pick, but I am also applying to TWU campuses and a few schools out of state. Out of the whole process, I'm definitely stuck on my personal statement because I definitely want it to be great and get accepted. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to sharing in this journey toward nursing school ?

I heard that the first semester is the hardest. Is it as exciting and fun as you expected?

I sent my transcript today, I hope they get it soon. I submitted the application and I'm pretty sure my personal statement is not too good :(

The second years said the hardest semester is this next one we are about to start. The 3 hardest classes we'll take in nursing school. Which is Pharmacology, Chronic Care & Mental Health. I'm getting myself mentally ready!!!

I just have to ask... is everyone referring to the UTHSC in Houston, tx and ... I took the HESI which I see everyone discussing the TEAS...I already applied to the UT Houston location for my second time the other day and sent my transcripts over just want to make sure I am in and following the correct thread

Utmb requires the teas v.. uthsc requires hesi

Hello everyone!

I am applying to UTMB for fall 2015 and just submitted my nursing CAS application a few moments ago. Eeek! I've got major butterflies now. I took the TEAS this past Saturday and scored an 80. I thought it wasn't bad considering I don't take A&P or micro until this coming spring. That's the part I'm nervous about. I still have 4 pre-req classes to take. Has anyone heard of applicants being accepted with this many classes left to take? I do have the required minimum of two science creds---I believe. I have A&P I and II and micro left to take. Also stat.

I currently work at Texas Children's Hospital in Patient and Family Services. My daughter was in NICU here four years ago and made me want to move over to clinical. I have my B.A from Sam Houston and my gpa is around 3.5. Everyone's GPA and TEAS scores are impressive!

Good luck to all! And thanks for starting this thread!

Hey to all those who have taken the teas v. What was the hardest part about it and how did you study for it and how long did you study before you took the teas? I'm planning on taking my teas December 29 and I'm starting to feel a little overwhelm. . I took my hesi back in November and i scored a 84.. is the teas v harder than the hesi? Any advice is helpful.. I have been studying the ATI manual and quizlet as well as the teas v pocket prep on my phone..

I just submitted my application. I hope NCAS receives my transcript soon!
