UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

I just called UTMB and they told me that they aren't sending out acceptance letters until the end of May... they are sending out a couple here and there... but they are sending out the first big wave of acceptance letters towards the end of May.

That is crazyy end of may!!! >:( That is way too long of a wait.

Wwooooooooow @ end of may

Maybe they just mean the actual physical letter. Because I received the acceptance email a couple of weeks ago. They said the letter would arrive in the mail shortly after, but I still haven't received it.

But when UTH said that I would receive the physical letter shortly after, I did actually receive it in the mail a couple of days later.

Anyway, from what I've seen and heard, they usually email you first and get a letter through the mail later on.

I hope that's what they mean lol. I'm ready to hear some news!!!!!

Nope that is not what they meant lol I called today and was told the same thing and asked SPECIFICALLY if that was when the decisions would be MADE or when the just LETTERS would be mailed n they said the majority decisions would be made BY the end of may...soo I'm guessing the letters of denials or what not will be sent out by the 1st or 2ns week of June which SUCKS

Tomorrow is my orientation at HBU I'm so nervous!! I really want to go to UTMB but I figured I would go ahead with HBU :( until I hear something.

I might be going to HBU. I got accepted today, not as a nursing major (I missed that deadline lol) but as a biology major. It's my back up plan if I don't get into the nursing programs. I also applied to Texas a&m international university and before I can apply to their nursing program, there are 5 nursing classes I have to take like intro to nursing And pathophysiology etc. has anyone else seen schools that require classes that you would usually take after being accepted into a nursing program? I'm thinking they do this to weed out people who fail first semester after taking these classes

Cool! They are really nice and I'm hoping everything works out. Only thing is the drive but, its not that bad. I got fitted for my scrubs and lab coat and just got soo excited trying it all on :woot:

I'm currently attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi and I got accepted into their nursing program for Fall. I already took Patho and I'm taking Pharmacology right now. They also require us to take it before nursing school. Pharm used to be a class in the nursing program but then since it was a hard class and everyone was doing bad they changed it into a prereqt.

'Sigh'...unfortunately Texas tech requires the same thing :-/ patho && intro to nursing are pre-reqs to their program

Hey did you accept it? Were you at orientation Monday? I'm so excited to start some where! Lol

Just wondering. But isn't this really early for orientation?

Well maybe, but they want you to be prepared for everything also they have a lot of policies like getting points from helping with the community. Also you have to do the drug test an background check which they say can take a while also they want you to start the vaccination series. But I believe everything has to be complete by Aug 12.
