UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants

Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:

Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75

Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0

Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.

My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -

Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30

Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )

Overall Gpa: 3.28

Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.

My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!

Last Friday. I would give it a day or two and then contact them directly, inquiring about it.

For those of you who have been able to get in touch with the registrar, what number did you call?

Hello everyone. I just called the Admissions office and they provided me the following information:

1.) they said that they are NOT giving admissions status out over the phone. I know someone else posted that they called and were given their admissions status over the phone, but I don't think they are supposed to do that because technically it is probably a HIPPA violation ( since all student information is supposed to be private and they can't verify that it is you who is calling in, even if you provide a student ID #).

2.) they said that they will be updating myUTH with status information for the rest of the WEEK. I think they are behind schedule which sucks for us since it is just longer that we have to string out the stress of not knowing, but at least it is a glimmer of hope, and we may still receive letters in the snail mail that let us know before the websites update.

Yes, my status has changed from sad to really depressed. lol

Seriously, my status is still the same. Yellow triangle and 2 holds.

yeah, I am afraid that that lack of people posting that their status changed today does not seem to be a good sign

Does anyone just have the green circle vs the yellow triangle. My status just has a green circle, and everyone on here either has a triangle or a check mark, so I'm guessing that's not a good sign!

have you already completed all of your pre-req classes...some of us may have yellow triangles because we still have some classes we are currently taking or have to take before the beginning of the fall 2012 semester.

CourtAggie5, I have a green circle too. What are your stats, not that it makes much difference, they seem to take whoever they want not necessarily those with the highest scores!
