TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

Hi all!

I just took TEAS today. I'm so glad that it's over now, but I'm also so nervous about the score.... I was told to wait for 48 hours to get the result, so that means I will be spending my weekend just waiting! How frustrating it is!

Hey kkai, let us know how you did! GOod luck. The waiting sucks...

Okay, so I don't know why I did this... but I just registered for Pathophysiology in Dallas for the Spring! EEEEEEEK!!! I'd rather take it in Denton, because I live so much closer, but Monday (one day a week) would work better because of my 11 month old.

I'm also taking online quantitative literacy in the Spring (blehhh???).

And I'm also looking for a job as a CNA so if any of you future students know of ANYWHERE that is hiring PART-TIME (if it's a nursing home) or FULL-TIME (in a hospital), please let me know!!

Back to studying for the micro final... Good luck this last week to everybody!

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to prepare for the TEAS?

I got the result back. I got 87%! I'm happy with my score, but I'm not sure if it's competitive enough. But I think I will stick with this score. I wonder how others are doing on their TEAS... Not many people are applying to TWU? or just not posting?

I think I studied for about 2 weeks. As what others said, you'll do fine as long as you go through the ATI book. That's all what I did for TEAS. Good luck on your TEAS and let us know how it goes!

Congrats dear! That's wonderful. I think your stat is good. I will be taking it within the next month.

Hey kkai - that is TERRIFIC! I think I'm going to retake mine early January, just have to scrounge up the money for it and I can't even think right now with my Micro final on Tuesday so I'll have all December to study for it.

I think your score is good as well! Are you going to retake it? I wonder if 80% is not competitive. When I was reading through the postings for Spring 2013, the scores of those who got accepted were like 80%. Some of them were 70%. I'm not sure if I should retake it to boost up. Good luck with your Micro though!

i think anywhere 80% + is good or competitive :)

The TEAS V is supposed to be MUCH tougher than the previous version and it's not like you can legitimetely ever go in to a professional school entrance exam expecting to get a 100%, although you should always try :p

So as long as you get an 80 or above i think you should be fine

*kind of compare it to like the MCAT(where the MAX score is 45), you prob won't get the MAX score but a 30 is considered good on the MCAT, where likewise id say an 80 is considered good on the TEAS :)

It is good - but my GPA is only going to be a 3.596 (because of B's in all my history/government classes) but 4/4 A attempts. So I need something to boost that - that's why I want to retake it. :)

Thank you for your comment. That is true that you cannot expect to get 100%. I'm just really nervous, especially because I failed HESI for the first try. For some reason, I thought that HESI was a lot harder... I will have to retake HESI in January. It makes me nervous to retake it after failing the vocabulary part.

Your GPA is not bad either, and you are 4/4 attempts! I think there is a high hope! Good luck on test! By the way, are you applying to Denton campus or Houston?
