Hi! trying to get in lonestar college applying in september and then to any other school that will take me. I have a 11 on point nothing extra. Do anyone know if that wil get me in. I been working on this degree for a century.

I thought that the lone star application period was in march? Anyway, I'd suggest NH because they take the largest # of students and I know some that got in after being on the alternate list too.

It is too late for september 08, but you can apply in January for september 09. An 11 is fairly borderline, some semesters the cut off is around 11.2 or so, so if you have a semester to kill I would retake whichever class you had the lowest grade in of the 3 they use to calculate GPA.

Kingwood and possibly CyFair have a Spring start program, I believe. Regardless, a score of 11.0 is borderline as far as admissions go. A couple of years ago, you'd easily be in, but nowadays 10.9-11.2 has been the cutoff depending on how many people apply. It's definitely worthwhile to try.

The best thing to do is sit down with an advisor at your first choice campus. They will tell you honestly what you need to do. What class you could reconsider taking. Also If you don't get in for the spring you will have to retake the hesi test which could raise your score. Good luck! Hang in there. We have all been there before.:twocents:

my friend got in with 10.5 pts. @ Tomball College last year. At 11 pts. it is still competative. I would retake a science class for a better score if you scored lower than an A. good luck.

well, it all depends on which campus you want to get into. North harris accepts the most with 110 this fall 08 semester, I was able to get accepted recently after being on the alternative list, I had about a 10.98, but this can vary with each year because it depends on the applicants and what points they have.

The other locations (cy-fair, kingwood, montgomery, tomball) accept no more than 50 each, if not less! meaning their point cutoff can be more at an 11.4 or higher.

But like others have said here, if you can wait until January to apply @ North harris, then use the fall to better your points, like get an A in the 3 classes they use, A&P1, psycology, and Eng 1, and finish the other pre-reqs so that you can get the most points from having completed them, and then just do really good in the reading section of the HESI in January.

Thanks everyone for being honest. I wanted you guys to tell me yea you have a good chance but all i can do is pray now!:wink2:

I did a search on here a while back. Fall cut-off for North Harris campus is usually around 11.0 plus or minus. Admission into the spring programs in the Lone Star Colleges are usually I think 11.3+ maybe even higher such as Cy-Fair.

I got in with an 11.1, but I know some students that had below that and they were accepted...this was last year at North Harris.

is thier anyone applying to kingwood lonestar college or cyfair I think for the sept. deadline if so what are your points.

Hi Goo!

I'm applying for the Spring semester and my points have not been loaded yet. Have you taken the HESI yet for the Spring admissions?
