Texas Tech Traditional BSN 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello Guys!!I just wanted to create a new thread for the 2013 Texas tech BSN program! I will be applying this December (El Paso) campus. Is anyone else?

I am so excited and hopefully in the near future I can meet you all!

I am so nervous....but I am sure most of you all are feeling the same.

Best of luck!!

Yea the prices are super high! :/

Is it possible to get a job and do nursing schoo at the same time? Or would it be too much?

Also, how long does it take for the background check? I did mine at the beginning of May and I haven't received the blue card or declaratory form yet.

It's nice to meet you too! :) have you ever been to Odessa? And by any chance are you looking for a roommate or know of anyone who needs one? I don't want to be weird or to forward or anything lol but th sooner I find a roommate the better.

Has anyone been able to speak to someone at the HSC financial aid? I called them and left a message 3 days ago and they still haven't called me back!

The new student orientation is updated! Lubbock orientation is July 9

Applying in Dec for Lubbock. Here are my stats since you all have been accepted what do you think of mine so far :

O.A. GPA 3.73 / Science 4.0

Job Shadow in OR & L&D, Volunteer Hrs, and getting my BLS and First Aide Cert in Aug before I leave for Tech. I only want in at Lubbock since I'll already be at Tech.

I think you should be fine! I only applied to lubbock! Just provide everything on the application even if it is not required! I provided 3 references, personal statement, and the essay... I also completed my application the day it opened which I'm not sure if that means anything but I got accepted lol

I'm not sure that anyone on here can tell you if you will be accepted or not. They look at many different things. I personally had no experience in the medical field nor any volunteer hours. My GPA was good, especially since I returned to college after 15 years. I imagine that my having a 4.0 since my return and my essay played a big part, along with my high TEAS scores. I have heard of people having excellent GPAs and tons of experience that do not get accepted. Not trying to dissuade you or anything, but I do not honestly think anyone on here can tell you what got them accepted over other people. Your stats are great and cannot hurt you, but I think I would make sure that your essay and personal statements are strong, along with the interview that you will have to do. Numbers are just that, numbers! Good luck to you on your pursuit and try not to let the nerves get to you while you wait for that acceptance letter! That was the most brutal wait of my life!! :-)
