Texas Tech Traditional BSN 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello Guys!!I just wanted to create a new thread for the 2013 Texas tech BSN program! I will be applying this December (El Paso) campus. Is anyone else?

I am so excited and hopefully in the near future I can meet you all!

I am so nervous....but I am sure most of you all are feeling the same.

Best of luck!!

Good Luck to all starting nursing school in the Fall! I just finished my second semester in the Traditional BSN program. The second semester is supposed to be the hardest semester by far:) Tech is now offering OB and electives over the summer (this is great means I can take 13 hrs in the fall and spring of my Senior year). The journey is a difficult one-- just stay determined and keep your eye on the "prize." The Fall Semester schedule is not bad at all. You will have one day of SIM and one day of clinical starting late October/ early November I believe. We also finished health assessment and our communications class by October-- which really helps to lighten your class load! All of the incoming Juniors will have a mentor that's a Senior in the program. I just signed up to be one and I'm pretty excited! Let me know if ya'll have any questions.

We're you at Lubbock Abilene Odessa?

Is the Intro to Nursing class at Tech 100% online? I'm not heading to Tech until the fall so wanted to do take this class during summer break...thanks :)

any new admits? PREFERABLE new admits of the ODESSA campus?

Hey I'm Sue and I will be attending the Odessa campus in the fall!! :). I'm excited about nursing school but I've never been to Odessa so I don't know what to expect.

Hello there! It's nice to finally hear from Odessa admits. we will see you all at orientation! But what happened to the rest lol.

I will be attending in Odessa too, and I have lived here the majority of my life! Don't expect anything spectacular! It is pretty much a desert out here, especially since we have a water shortage! It IS a booming area right now due to the oil & gas boom, so there are more people living in the area than normal. Be sure that you start your apartment search NOW b/c housing is in short supply and high demand these days! I look forward to meeting all the Odessa students at orientation. BTW, has anyone received their emails about that yet?

Ok BIG BIG question I need answered. Does it make a big difference to apply w/ your CNA?

I'm graduating hs and headed to Tech in Aug. I will have 3/4 sciences done and have 42 hrs so that I can apply in December a year ahead of schedule. If I have high GPA's, good references, volunteer hrs I would think that's enough to get in. If not something is wrong with how they admit students.

I did not have my CNA and I got in the first time.

Gosh!! Feels awesome to see Odessa admits!! Hey y'all!! can't wait to see you guys at orientation!! But on another note, I'm worried about the into to nursing pre req. haven't gotten my admittance to the school itself even tho I applied a month ago and I'm worried that by the time I get accepted into the school that intro to nursing classes will be full!

I don't have mt CNA either and I was accepted the first time I applied. One of the big reasons I decided to go straight for my BSN was b/c I did not have to get my CNA first!
