Not that I know of.

Specializes in ICU.

I am currently in the traditional BSN program in Abilene. Our first semester schedule was M 1-5, T 8-3:30, W either 1-5 or 8-12, Th 1-5 or 8-12, and Friday 1-5 or 8-12. Those were just regular class days...clinicals were 6-4 or 5. Hope that helps.

Thank you!, how do the clinical days fit in? Do you like the program so far?

Is it as overwhelming as it sound?

It's a bit overwhelming at first, just trying to get acquainted with your schedule. You will get the hang of things quickly. Don't let the schedule frighten you. There will be moments when you wonder why you chose to go into nursing school but it will be worth it in the end! Y'all are going to do great! :)

I have a question for current or past students. What are some things that we are responsible or should buy besides books? Like stethoscop, certain type of shoes, ect..... I want to start buying stuff now so I don't have a big expense right before I start.

You will have a chance to order a stethoscope during orientation. You have to buy red scrubs, but they have to be embroidered with the HSC logo. They will give you more info about it during orientation on where you can buy them. Shoes have to be all white. They say not to have cloth top shoes, but I found it hard to find leather shoes. You will need a pen light and possibly medical scissors. Some people like to use clip boards, but I found it easier to use a 1/2 inch binder. I can't think of anything else at the moment. Hope that gets you started!
