  1. They told me we would know by the end of this week. Is that what they told yall? I have yet to hear anything. I hope they send out emails soon. Maybe they haven't sent selection emails yet? Keeping my fingers crossed until further notice.
  2. had my interview, yall! i think things went well. they said i'd know something by the end of next week.
  3. I have an interview tomorrow. I'm really nervous and hope I'm prepared. Parkland's residencies are SO competitive.
  4. How was the interview last week? Did they say when they would be making decisions? I'm interviewing this week and I've always wanted to work at Parkland.
  5. It's possible, but it really depends on how flexible your sorority is. Most are pretty accommodating. I loved Greek life and wouldn't have gotten through nursing school without all my sisters. I would still rush and try it out. You can usually manage both!
  6. I felt the same way! This is my second interview with parkland and I thought both of mine went really well. I'm SO discouraged as well. It's very difficult for me to travel back and fourth to these interviews on such short notice. I get so excited about them only to find out I made the 6 hour drive back to dallas to discover I didn't get it.
  7. Just received an email. I didn't get it back to square one.
  8. It's a bit overwhelming at first, just trying to get acquainted with your schedule. You will get the hang of things quickly. Don't let the schedule frighten you. There will be moments when you wonder why you chose to go into nursing school but it will be worth it in the end! Y'all are going to do great! :)
  9. I had mine yesterday as well. I'll be anxiously waiting by the phone until I hear something!
  10. Does anyone know when they're making decisions?
  11. During the first year, your schedule is pretty chaotic, or at least it was when I started 2 years ago. Monday you have class during the morning through mid afternoon. Tuesday you would spend the first half of the day in clinical/simulation and the second half in a classroom setting. Or visa verse, depending on your group. Wednesday was afternoon classes and Thursday and Friday alternated clinical and simulation. It's very time consuming for the entire first year in the program. The schedules are very different for everyone (between various groups, clinical sites, and coursework) so it's difficult to say how your schedule might look. When I first started, I looked at my schedule on raiderlink and thought, "wow! Class only 3 times a week. No big deal." But the raiderlink schedule doesn't account for clinical time. You will get a specific schedule on the first day of class. Your entire week is jam packed with nursing stuff. My best advice is to get a planner, and carry it with you everywhere. You won't be able to function without it. Hopefully that gives you an idea of what it's like. Good luck!
  12. 50 applicants, as in 50 interviews? Wow! Hope all went well. Good luck to everyone doing interviews!
  13. Just received a call from Parkland. They're conducting interviews for SICU residency this week, Monday - Wednesday. I scheduled mine for Wednesday! Good luck to everyone!
