TAMUCC Spring 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone I didnt see a thread for TAMUCC spring 2012 so I thought I would start one. Does anyone have an idea what the average GPA and HESI score to get in is? I cant seem to find this information anywhere. Also when will we get acceptance letters? I can't wait anymore!!! :nurse:

Oliveoil351, Sorry this is a little late now. My GPA is 3.5 and Hesi score was an 82% which the councilor made it sound like it was a really good score. So if you have anything higher than that then I'm sure you'll get in. Though i've heard the Fall is the hardest time to get into the program. Hope this helps!

Hey quick question, do we have summer off or do we continue classes? Also it is only four semesters correct?

Once you are in the program you don't have summer off and it's 5 semesters

Actually, it is divided into 4 semesters but you can take less classes per semester and make it more semesters.

Also, you can choose to not register for summer if you do not want to take classes in the summer. It is completely up to you.

For example. I started level 1 in Summer 2011, am taking level 2 this fall (2011), am registered to take level 3 Spring of 2012, and should be finishing up level 4 during summer of 2012.

The hardest part is getting clinical scheduled... that can really hold you up from not finishing on your timeline. ..(if you are not in the Corpus area).

Also, staying in good standing with financial aid is almost impossible because Eline students do not really operate within the normal "semester" boundaries (Instructors never have your grades ready when the semester ends).

Hope that helps.

If you will be an in classroom student and not e-line it's 5 semesters and you cannot take less or more because you have to follow the degree plan and they will give you the classes you need to take. Unless you talk to the assistant dean Dr. Forgione that you want to slow down (because you failed a class and you are going to be out of sequence). I know online is different, in the in class you have scheduled clinical on different rotations. Your first semester you only have fundamentals for clinicals but for second semester onwards it's by rotation because you usually have 2 clinical classes.

oops. Sorry for some reason I thought we were all talking Eline here :)

Disregard my post --unless you are interested in eline in which case everything I said is correct.

Yes jhinojos49 is correct. I just went and talked with my councilor yesterday and she confirmed that all Spring 2012 students will graduate at the end of Summer 2013. That is if you pass everything. She said we will be taking 6 hours Summer2012, 12 hours Fall 2012, 13 hours Spring 2013, and 13 hours Summer 2013. Hope this helps everyone!

Great info. thanks. I was also wondering if you were in the Corpus area or not. I am on the fence about applying for the eline program because I am not in the area. I am from there but I am military and move around a lot. So I'm sure that would make clinical pretty tough. Any advice/info you can offer would be awesome.

Thanks!

Andi
