TAMUCC Spring 2012

Hi everyone I didnt see a thread for TAMUCC spring 2012 so I thought I would start one. Does anyone have an idea what the average GPA and HESI score to get in is? I cant seem to find this information anywhere. Also when will we get acceptance letters? I can't wait anymore!!! :nurse:

heyy im not sure the average but when i talked to the nursing counselor, she said that they accepted two 3.0 last semester and she seemed to be impressed with my gpa and hesi scores which i thought were average. i have a 3.6 gpa and i made an 83 on hesi. whats your gpa and hesi scores?

I hope sa haha since im going to take macroeconomics, Intro to ethics, Pharmacology and Pathophysiology this semester just for that school. I actually live about 30 mins north of Dallas so ill be moving down there. What about you?

Do they look at overall GPA or just the science GPA? I have a 3.44 GPA from my previous bachelor's degree and a 4.0 GPA on my post baccalaureate science courses. I got an 87 on my HESI, I'm really nervous about this. Any who, does anyone know when we will find out about who is accepted or not?

cdrouin89 thats cool! i live in houston. i have to wait till fall to apply cause i haven't taken those to nursing classes. are you applying any other places?

and @ heather

yes they look at your overall gpa and hesi scores

Hello!I hope to apply for Fall of 2012 for the generic bachelor but I was wondering if that would be a good idea considering that I would have to take Pharmacology and Pathophysiology in the summer 2 term. Have any of yall taken those classes? can yall give me a little insight about them? and since I am from the Houston area as well:) I would have to take those classes online. My concern is wether to apply for the fall and take them in the summer since I will have all my prerequisites done or to apply for the spring semester and take them during the fall term any comments would be helpful:idea:

Hey everyone! I've just applied for Spring 2012. My GPA is a 3.5 and HESI score was an 82% which my counselor also made it sound like I was a really good applicant. So I'm really hoping to get in! I've also been looking for TAMUCC's Nursing program stats. and i haven't been able to find any. Does anyone know about how many people they accept?

I think you should be fine taking them in the Summer next year. Thats what many people do and they all seem to be able to handle it just fine.

I believe they accept 75-80 applicants for each semester. So, does anyone know when we start finding out about who's in or not?

I think we find out in the 1st or 2nd week of september. Also does anyone live in corpus? Would you say its a good place to move to? Ive been reading up on that and they say its high crime rate? Is it like that aroung the university?

Cdrouin89: I have many friends that live down there that love it. They haven't had any problems with crime yet but they say they always make sure to bring anything valuable from their cars inside the house with them. Also the area around the University is pretty safe. You can google crime rate in Corpus Christi and see where the bad parts are.
