Hello....I'm needing to know if anyone has any info on this university?? I just recently came across it while trying to figure out what I should do. I hear they have a LVN to RN program and that is of interest to me. I am wanting to get my BSN in the end and hopefully this university might be the place?? :) Any info on the program would be great!!

Talk to the financial aid office there. I would make an appointment to go in and sit down with them. They will help point you in the right direction as far as applying for various things.

Also - are you working somewhere that has a 125 plan for daycare (commonly referred to as a cafeteria plan or benefits) or that provides reimbursement for tuition? You can also draw money out of a retirement account penalty free to pay for education as well if you have access to that.

Okay did you guys find out why long the program was?? Do you come out with an associates or a bachelors?? How many days does it meet? What are clinicals like and where are they?? Let me know what all you found out?

Thanks

You will have an AD if you complete the first year, and a BS if you complete the second year. There are more pre-reqs for the BS of course.

It has been a long time since I went there - I couldnt tell you waht the schedule is like now. When I went it seemed like it averaged about 3-4 days a week between classes and clinicals most of the time.

I worked 12 hour night shifts Fri & Sat and either Thurs or Sun nights depending on the schedule so that I always pretty much worked 3 - 12 hours shifts a week all the way through. I worked as a Nurse tech/ekg tech/monitor tech and then as a nurse extern my 2nd year. The extern gig was great because it paid decently and they let me take a small patient load with RN supervision/assistance. It was great experience.

Oh - at the time - most of our clinicals were in Fort Worth - JPS, Harris, Hugeley, and then also at Walls in Cleburne. I don't know where they are now.
