Hi everyone,
So many of you were so helpful a year ago when we were looking at relocating to the Ft. Worth area. May I bug you again? We ended up moving to PA for a well-paying position for my husband that has required more travel than we seem to enjoy It is a great job, minus that one aspect. Anyway, we are getting serious about TX again. I found a house on the internet ($114,000) that is in Saginaw. The neighborhood is Heather Ridge Estates addition and the elementary school is High Country. Does anyone know anything neg. or pos. about either? If we moved, hubby probably wouldn't work (he has military pension) and I would need to work full-time. I have been a nurse for about 12 years and currently make $27.50 base. Would that be possible to make in that area? I'm not a critical care nurse. For those of you that are familiar with the area, are people generally friendly and welcoming? I visited the area last year to look at houses and everything seemed to be very family oriented. Are there any other areas we should consider? We would like to keep the cost of the house as close to $100,000 as possible. We can live with a min. of 1400 square feet. Greatly reducing our expenses is critical to hubby not working Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!!!
I just moved to Amarillo FROM the Saginaw area (FW technically) and I think it's a good area, particularly the newer parts, to live. HOWEVER...while the school district thereIS better than the FW ISD...that ain't sayin' much. If you have young kids and can swing it- look into Lake Country Christian School or another private school in the area. Better yet...ESPECIALLY if you've got kiddos in school - look into the Southlake/Keller area. The newer parts of town, especially Southlake are definitly pricey, like 500k pricey, but the older parts of Southlake and probably Keller for sure should have in a less stratospheric price range and with a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better public school system. Their ISD is one of the best in the metroplex.

Thanks for the info and link!! That is so neat. I had no idea there was public transportation in that area.
