What are the criteria for LVN- BSN?

To anyone attending PV nursing school, I just graduated from there. Let me say that you must have patience if you plan to attend this nursing school. It was hell the whole time. Befriend the students ahead of you in the program, they will be your life savers. And do not be afraid to go to your professors offices and talk with them. It will help you in the end. Prairie View is a good school, but with many flaws. It will take determination, concentration, and patience to complete their program. And they also have a HESI exit exam that is mandatory to graduate in the final semester. You must score a 900.

If anyone has any other questions about this program, do not hesitate to ask as I am VERY familiar with both the main campus and the nursing school.

Hey pvnurse1, I am a sophomore about to apply for nursing school most likely UT, TWU, and PV, i would like to know if you have any informations about those schools, and in wht regards PV, do we actually need to finish all the requirements before gettin into the program because i have almost all of them but ill still need computer and speech, so i dont know , and about the HESi how did u prepare for that and how was the process of application for you please if possible i would like to talk to you via e-mail i dont know if you dont mind, thank you.

Raiza. And than you for allowing future nurses to contact you.

As long as you have everything done and if you are taking your last class that can't be a science class. Because they said those tend to be harder and don't want someone to fail it. And since you said its only statistics you have you should be fine. Make sure you have EVERYTHING done before handing it to Ms A******. They will not notify you if you are missing something. I think by now you should be pretty good at getting in. I am in my first semester there and Im taking nursing classes this summer. But overrrall I really love PV.

hi all!

i am planning to enroll @ pv spring 2012. anyone apply while being an lvn? on-line i saw the methods of teaching lvn's and non-nursing students varies while in the program. just wondering if anyone knows. i have also heard assignments are really hard and lengthy, any one have any advice? i just need to know the work load, difficulty and days or rotations during the program. if anyone could help i would be really grateful. also i saw on previous posts first come first serve is that right?

liz

i think nursing school period is lots of hardwork and dedication. yes its difficult but you have to study, study study. that's all i did this summer. you build your own schedule bc of the classes. im not an lvn but from what i heard they go in at 2nd or 3rd semester one of those. and do almost the same thing.

Yes you need to take speech and computer before applying or you can do it while you are taking this classes in the fall. DO not take any science classes in the fall, make sure you are all done with them. Because that will just keep you from getting in bc they look at it as those are hard classes and people can fail. the GPA cut off is 2.75, the Hesi exam stuff you can find on the website www.pvamu.edu/nursing go to prospective students. Its the HESI we take now. You can find the study book for hesi at the PVAMU College of Nursing store in med center.

Thank you Navy, I am done with my sciences classes A in chem and Ap2 the second time the first i had a D so i had to retake it, and AP1 n micro i had B, so do you think i have chances to get in, and about the hesi what is the cut off percentage to have
