Well this stinks! I have been going to TCC for a few years now (taking my pre-req very slowly). I moved about 10 minutes down the road and am now considered in Parker County (just barly).

So instead of costing me $50 per hour, it now $73 per hour b/c I'm not in Tarrant County anymore. So its costing me an extra $184 ($584 vs $400) to take my summer classes.

Its actually closer for me to drive to TCC than it is to Weatherford College - but i have to pay more. Grrrrrr!!

My mom lives in Tarrant County - if I just use her address, would that cause trouble?

I have never heard of it costing more $$ if you live in a diff county. I have heard of more $$ if you are not a resident of that state though. I'm not sure if you would come across a problem if yoy used your mom's address.

I don't see why not. I used to "borrow" my aunt's home address and never had any problems doing it.

One of the community colleges I'm attending charged me for out of district fees. Ironically, my home address and that community college are under the same county.

You have to prove residency in county to get in county tuition rates. You need a utility bill, drivers liscence or something like that with the in county address on it.

I have to pay out of county tuition because I live in Lewisville and live just across the county line. :(

go online to tccd.edu and read the policy regaring tuition. It does clearly state that if you falsify your residency and are caught, you are subjected to the remifications of disciplinary actions including dismissal from the school; as well as will be made to pay any and all money due for out of county tuition. Just fyi, your are falsifying records and this is state/government documents. They can prosecute. I don't think it's fair either, I pay out of county tuition as well, but we don't make the rules we just have to abide by them. sorry ..........

It is nice to know I'm not the only one who has to pay more just b/c I'm just over the county line. Still stinks though.

I changed from Dallas to Tarrant county, and had to pat out-of-county fees only because I am an honest person, and couldn't lie for 2 years.

I know some people do, but that's their own conscience.

I think your situation may be different...depending on your age, if your mom still claims you on her taxes, etc....

I hadn't thought about it being wrong. It would reallybe bad if you used an address and got caught after you were already in nursing school. Definately not worth the risk.

ive been paying out of county fees to tarrant county college for 14 years now . at one time we could use po boxes but they cut that out real quick ...so i still pay out of county fees but it is still much better than my alternative which is hill college...
