U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

CyFair students. If you were not aware yet, the lab packs ($169) are not available in the bookstore and will be obtained via the nursing dept next week

We do not have to pay for them. They were paid for by a grant.

Mamma_D, I sent you a pm.

Just threw the price tag in so students are aware of what I am talking about

Mal yes I am nights too. Pm me your schedule so we can see if we have the same classes(instructors) but my clinicals will be Friday. So if we do we can sit next to one another in class.

I tried to respond this am but it said you needed to clear some messages.

sorry today was sooooooo long and pretty boring...just saying

Yeah it definitely was! I can say that parts were entertaining. I loved the diversity exercise. Hilarious.

Got a question? Has anyone seen anything on the D2L site? When prof Key was talking about a calendar and all that stuff it sounded like it was accessible. I wanted to know if it is or is it be open on Monday at the earliest. I was registered this week so I wanted to see if things for me are slow to get up and accessible. Thanks in advance.

Hi: I have been following this thread and hate to hear about your denial of appeal. However, have you checked with Texas Workforce (called Texas Workforce Solution, website)? Google it (Texas Workforce financial aid) and it should bring you to their website regarding job training and financial aid. As a nursing student, you can apply for aid if you are below a certain income. Now, you have to apply for it in advance (6 weeks before classes begin) but it may help you in future semesters. They even have aid to help pay for your childcare as well. Their scholarships are available up through your bachelor's and are first come first serve. Hope this helps you and good luck!!

Okay looked it up and their website is wrksolutions.com

I thought the same. The diversity and a few others were pretty interesting though.

I fell asleep in a few of he sessions

So they ran out of the patches! I certainly hope they plan to have them no later than Tuesday!

Thanks Woodland. I actually have applied for that scholarship, and am waiting in owed from them in about a week. Keeping my fingers crossed for that assistance.
