I've seen some threads regaurding the topic however they're all a bit old. I wanted to hear from actual new grads on what their starting pay is or was as a new grad, their location, what type of degree they have, where they are working (ex. Hosptial, Nursing Home), in what feild and any other info you can give me relating to this topic. Thanks!:nurse:

I have a job offer in home health care (pediatric intensive) to start at $28/hour with overtime. I am desperate to start, but waiting on my references. I'll believe it when I see a paycheck! (I have an LPN license, an RN license, and my associates of applied science)

Is AAS the same as an ADN? That's an awsome offer, hope it goes well for you and there no reason why you wouldn't see it in you paycheck since they offered it to you. Good JOB! :) Are you Bilingual? Just wondering... But once again, Good JOB!

Specializes in Psych, EMS.

I graduated in December and got a new grad residency position at a psychiatric hospital. I have a BSN (required for the postion), and got $23.50/hr. I now work evenings as a staff nurse there and get $28.75. Best of luck to all!!

December 09 grad. In Houston Medical Center base salary is 26.65 + about 3-4 dollars for night shift and weekends so around $30 dollar per hour total

Base pay for new grads where I work is 26.00/hr + diffs for day shifts from 5pm till clock out, weekend diffs, n PM shift diff of 4.50.

Specializes in Telemetry, Med-Surg.

I am so envious! The pay in MO for new nurses pales in comparison. I guess that's why so many people are flocking to TX.

Anyone knows how much is the average pay in Houston for new grad residency program with BSN degree?
